Banner isn’t a character I find myself rooting for. I don’t fully understand his motivations. I can’t root for the Hulk all the time either (though it often seems easier than Banner). It’s hard to put my finger on it, just none of it really captivates me or feels fully of consequence. It’s interesting, because the immortality angle seems to work against this title, while I find it captivating in the X-Men titles now. There also was the Essential Collection, but it’s too difficult to find nowadays.
