Vous y trouverez la clef de l'œuvre avec la manière de s'en servir; mais avant d'entrer en matière, il faut vous instruire des caractères suivants. The new edition is augmented by two previously published and out of print essays by the author:‘ The Spell for Success’ gives a comprehensive analysis of a key part of the Grimorium Verum ritual, which it shares with a number of other Solomonic works, but which originates conceptually in pre-Solomonic magic; and ‘The Conjuration of Nebiros,’ which details a complete conjuration from the author’s personal work, illustrating the entire process and contextualising it.

At the end there are some short extracts from the Grimorium Verumwith the Seals of evil spirits, which, as they do not belong to the Key of Solomonproper, I have not given. For the evident classification of the Keyis in two books and no more. The companion Grimoire to the Greater Key of Solomon, (for which, see above). It focuses on the characteristics of the various demons, and the summoning rituals. A rare and surprising secret of magic -- The manner of making the mirror of Solomon, appropriate for all divinations. We may therefore conclude that the Grimorium Verum proper is not more diabolical than the first part of the Lemegeton, which indeed contains the ceremonial for the evocation of precisely the same spirits. the French translation, but unknown to the present writer, as indeed to most bibliographers. The work, as it stands, is really in two parts only, the Grimorium Verum proper and certain "Rare and Astounding Magical Secrets." The first may be analysed as follows:--( a.) Directions for the preparation of the Operator, all of a personal kind and analogous to those of the Clavicle. ( b.) Instructions for the manufacture of the magical instruments required in the work, also analogous to the Clavicle. ( c.) The composition of the virgin parchment on which the characters and seals are to be inscribed, shewing distinct variations from the Clavicle. ( d.) The processes of evocation and the discharge. Beyond the fact that the evoked Spirits are Lucifer, Beelzebuth, Astaroth and the inferiors and ministers of these, this first and chief part is not more repulsive, as it is indeed scarcely more unintelligent, than most of the processes in its prototype.

They are all tiny volumes, nominally in duodecimo, but much smaller according to modern measurements. The grimoire is not a translation of an earlier work as purported, its original appearing in French in the mid-18th century, as Les Veritables Clavicules de Solomon as noted already byA. E. Waitewho discussed the work in his The Book of Ceremonial Magic(1911), stating: The "introductory chapter" [6] was written by Antonio Venitiana del Rabina, who said he had gathered his information from original writings of King Solomon. [7] Much of the material of this grimoire derives from the Key of Solomon and the Lesser Key of Solomon, pseudepigraphical grimoires attributed to King Solomon. [8] The first book contains instructions for summoning Lucifer or Lucifuge Rofocale, for the purpose of forming a deal with the Devil.

The killer of Bibaa Henry and Nicole Smallman in Kingsbury, London in 2020, had invoked Lucifuge Rofocale prior to the killings. He hoped that by sacrificing their lives to the demon, he would win a lottery. He championed a spirit centred approach and the importance of the grimoires for the western magical tradition. He will always be associated with the Grimorium Verum, the book which was central to his practice for over forty years. The work is divided into two books. [2] The first book contains instructions for summoning a demon and for the construction of tools with which to force the demon to do one's bidding. The second book is divided further into two parts: the Sanctum Regnum and Secrets, de L'Art Magique du Grand Grimoire ("Secrets, of the magic art of the Grand Grimoire"). The Sanctum Regnum contain instructions for making a pact with the demon, allowing one to command the spirit without the tools required by book one, but at greater risk. Secrets contains simple spells and rituals one can employ after having performed the ritual of the first book. Some editions contain a short text between these two parts, Le Secret Magique, où le Grand Art de pouvoir parler aux Morts ( The Magic Secret, or the Grand Art of being able to speaking with the dead), dealing with necromancy. In the first part is contained various dispositions of characters, by which powers the spirits or, rather, the devils are invoked, to make them come when you will, each according to his power, and to bring whatever is asked: and that without any discomfort, providing also that they are content on their part; for this sort of creature does not give anything for nothing. In the first part is taught the means of calling forth the Elemental Spirits of the Air, Earth, Seaor of the Infernus, according to their affinities. The Grimorium Verum nearly copies the Key of Solomon in instructions for preparation of the magician and his tools but provides different instructions for the preparation of the virgin parchment and for the evocation and dismissal of spirits. There is an entirely different hierarchy of Demons, who number 30 and who report to three leaders, Lucifer, Beelzebub, and Astaroth, who have among them six deputy chiefs.
