This Ozark Trail Dome Tent has ample air vents that allow enough ventilation to prevent your room from becoming stuffy and hot. The windows will also let you to see the weather or watch the stars if you want. It has a width of 110.24 inches, which gives you enough room to move around comfortably within the tent, and have plenty of space if you’re going to be spending a lot of time inside when you’re camping. At first, I wasn’t worried about any weather problems with the Coleman Skydome. But after a few trips, the tent started to leak during heavy rainstorms.
That being said, one area where this tent does struggle is in terms of wind-resistance. Due to its high ceiling height of 6’10” (208 cm), the Coleman Octagon isn’t as great in the wind as a shorter, dome-shaped model. Breathability & Ventilation The Coleman fire retardant fabric prevents it from flaring dangerously. Instead, it would self-extinguish, giving plenty of time to evacuate the tent. The tent setup is relatively easy. It will take about 15 minutes to set up before you begin using it. This GEERTOP 4-Person Darkroom Tent is 106.7 x 82.67 x 59.05 (L x W x H), so it’s a good size. It can easily fit a queen-size air mattress inside and accommodate four people if they don’t have much gear or bags.

The Quechua tent’s creators have tested it in some of the strongest conditions, like 30 mph winds. There will be no worrying about whether this tent can hold up to the nature around you. Although this tent isn’t the best on this list, you get what you pay for. If you’re after the darkest tent, you’ll have to spend some extra money. One of the top reasons I love camping is the ability to see the night sky. So, it’s great that the Ozark Trail Dark Rest had a sky-viewing option.
Also, look for a robust design that does not look like it will be vulnerable to wind damage. Geodesic tents are incredibly aerodynamic and strong. Double-layer tents offer better protection and comfort in bad weather. VentilationThe flysheet on the Quechua works like magic, too! You can lift this sheet by rope from the inside, allowing for fantastic circulation. It almost felt like I had A/C!
A fabric's waterproof properties are measured using a rating called its hydrostatic head. If a tent has a hydrostatic head of 3000mm it means that a 3 metre column of water can be placed on its surface before any drops will show through the underside of the fabric. (The Ministry of Defence in the UK classifies fabric with a hydrostatic head of 800mm+ as waterproof). In this tent, you’ll be protected from the weather thanks to the welded flooring and inverted seams for rain protection. With that said, this tent really shines in the summer months (if you pardon the pun). Because of its size and yurt-like shape, the Octagon 8 naturally lends itself to being a luxury glamping bedroom. There is enough room for a bed the size of a standard double, and other furnishings. Add some lighting and accessories, and the Octagon 8 can be transformed into the perfect romantic getaway. If you have experience pitching one of Coleman's event shelters, the Octagon 8 follows a similar format. However, in this case, there is a lot of putting together of pieces to do, being an octagon tent with eight sides to support.Perhaps the most impressive part about this tent’s build is its quality materials. In fact, when constructing this tent, Coleman included the following key materials in its design: Stainless Stee l Other tents, like the Ozark, offer “dark rest technology,” but it doesn’t compare to what the Quechua offers. Additionally, the Octagon’s affordable price point makes it a nice option for families and groups on a budget. It’s also made with durable materials and has a rugged construction, so it’s designed to last throughout years of use.
