About this deal

Multiroom Audio System: Mix and match any combination of Arylic Streamers to create a custom multiroom system and play the same music throughout your home, send different sources to each room at the same time, or create your own custom-defined multiroom zones... All controlled via our 4stream App. The beauty of the S10 is that you can put it pretty much anywhere in your house or apt. (where there’s an outlet and speakers), and it will theoretically stream music. I would like a pairing mode for the Bluetooth; right now it can be paired without any code. Imagine somebody connects to the speaker from outside the house and plays at full volume in the middle of the night :

The S10 is a WiFi and LAN based streamer with Bluetooth, which is principally designed as a pre-amp streamer by virtue of the remote control included, so you can connect it to a power amplifier for onward connection of speakers, or maybe a pair of active (powered) speakers – for instance Acoustic Energy’s AE1’s Arylic S10 vs Triangle AIO Connect (79 USD vs 150 USD) – We have two very different Streamers here today. The biggest difference is that while S10 cannot do any kind of digital output, AIO Connect has a really noisy analogue output and using it via its line out was almost impossible, the noise floor being generally very audible. This is why direct comparisons would be complicated, AIO has the advantage of using an external DAC which may be more potent than S10, but it also has a starting price of double that of S10, where S10 replaces the DAC in a system. I would recommend considering AIO Triangle as a Streamer for more expensive setups, and S10 for entry-level, bedroom, or bedside setups where having a simple DAC with a simple AMP or even active speakers is fun and feasible. I think the Valve Amp adds that little bit of nice distortion that makes it harder to differentiate. I’m listening on Sundara’s. like for example it has a webserver with a nice interface that sometimes does not update. (eg. eq settings) Because most Receivers and devices nowadays already have these capabilities built in. For instance,

After installing the apps on the relevant smart device and hooking up the Arylics to the audio component(s) of choice, the only small hurdle to cross is connecting them to the home network. There are a few easy ways to do this, and all are explained in the manual. you can use it to stream music from your favorite apps such as Spotify, Tidal, Qobuz, etc. while also controlling the volume from the app on your phone. Here’s the bottom line on this little streamer with regards to sound quality; it’s not going to wow you with its sonic attributes but nor is it going to offend you overly if you play with the very basic onboard EQ settings. I wouldn’t choose it as my day to day streamer in our main system as it’s simply outclassed by the other equipment and they highlight it shortcomings, but with something like the Acoustic Energy AE1 Actives (a very good speaker system in its own right) I think you’d be hard pushed to find too much fault in it – with the caveats that I’ve mentioned. The S10 is a wireless streaming preamplifier with network and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity using your phone or tablet. In other words,

It can be a pain to set up in general and your phone may be spending quite a bit of time actually searching for the unit. So once it’s finally set up, I’d probably just not mess with it much.I primarily use Spotify, so I would just press that and follow the prompts. (It will say “Open Spotify”) Generally speaking, the sound of the S10 is really clean, well balanced and fairly detailed for the price. The sound has a fair amount of soundstage width, a fair amount of depth, and if we consider that we’re paying for it less than for the majority of dongles, the relative performance for the price is not just good but actually excellent. I noticed a pretty dynamic sound that’s not compressed or distorted with S10, and volume is never a problem since you’ll be using it with an external amplifier for volume control. when attempting to switch to Bluetooth from Wi-Fi, it’s a real pain and doesn’t want to cooperate very much. Add Wireless Capability To Your Home Audio System: Add WiFi, Direct Streaming, Airplay, Spotify Connect and Bluetooth 5.0 wireless capability to your amplifiers, preamps and receivers However, I find it odd that it does not have any digital input (neither Toslink nor RCA). That, I find, is the biggest omission as the high-grade ESS Sabre DAC could have come in play when connected to any other digital source – not just from the Internet.

We listened to more songs than those named in this playlist, but those are excellent for identifying a sonic signature. I recommend trying most of the songs from this playlist, especially if you’re searching for new music! The playlists are different for Spotify, Tidal and Youtube, and based on the songs I enjoy and are available on each! I then went though a very painful troubleshooting process with the manufacturer's customer service that took weeks. I was finally advised to get it replaced. I bought the S10 a few weeks ago and have to say I’ve been delighted with it. I use it mainly for occasional Spotify listening through my stereo, or for Podcasts and the odd flac file for albums I’ve ripped to listen to on the move. All of this comes from a Samsung S10 phone. Supports streaming from online services, smart device memory, USB pen drive, NAS, Bluetooth, and line in. you also have the option of using a LAN cable and parking the S10 close to your Router/modem setup, but you don’t necessarily have to.This will most certainly benefit those who are looking for a device that can contribute to their 2nd or 3rd setup – one that they may use when having company over, or for some much-needed rest and relaxation. Moving onward, This quirk made using USB storage quite inconvenient, but the way everything was handled properly when the phone storage is used leaves some hope that it can be fixed with future app updates.
