About this deal

The Swan 20L Low Energy Dehumidifier is not particularly loud, but it’s considerably louder than the Russell Hobbs Fresh Air Mini Compact Dehumidifier that I tested recently (although the Swan’s tank capacity is much, much bigger).

Swan will authorise an exchange providing the fault is beyond economical repair and the service company have generated a fault reference number to reflect this. I made sure to test it against even the most stubborn of fabrics, but even bedding, denim and towels were completely dry within 6 hours. I did my normal size load of washing and hung the clothes out to dry on an airer before pointing the dehumidifier backwards towards the clothes. But on top of our expert opinion provided in this product review, we also went to the effort of collating some real user reviews from around the country. Be aware that you will always get the truth, some of the reviews are good and some might be more negative, so always take them with a pinch of salt!

Litres per day – Removes up to 20 litres of moisture from a room in 24 hours, ideal for humid conditions and controlling damp, mould and moisture in homes, basements, and bathrooms.

So let us kick off our top to tail review of the Swan Sh3070 30-Litre Dehumidifier, which is also known by Swan’s product code of LEPX9. The machine is quiet heavy, but does have a retractable handle and sits on castors to aid movability. While it did not disturb me while I was working in the room next door, I don’t think I would be able to sleep while it was running. Featuring a simple, easy to use, soft-touch control panel with LED display, with the built-in timer you can set it to run for as long as you need it and it's impressively quiet so won't disturb you when in use. This feels counterintuitive to do because the gadget is pointing away from the clothes, and surely it should suck the damp air out of the clothes? Because it's a 10-litre tank, it can last for around four to six hours before the tank needs emptying, and the handy water full alarm function is very useful, I can hear it going off from another room. The noise level isn't too intrusive (they're not silent though); the design and build quality is excellent; the timer brilliant and the controls very easy to use!
