About this deal

But some similar ambery tonka aspect you can also find in Invictus, Stronger with You, One million, Code Profumo. The opening is just gorgeous with the citrus, seaweed and salt water which later fade a bit into the back to reveal a woody dry down which yes it's a little synthetic as there is woody molecule and some darker woods but it works great.

Out of those 3 fragrances this one is the least sweetest and in my opinion the most grown up smelling one.Side note: I love the interesting comparisons people make when they don’t like something, as if to strongly justify their disapproval. And it does project fairly well and last really long even when I tried spraying it in the air the first few times. Classy scent, high quality, longevity is pretty high with me, i get whiffs up to ten hours when the weather is warm. Top notes are Sea Notes, Bergamot, Pear, Apple, Grapefruit and Lemon; middle notes are Lavender, Rosemary and Geranium; base notes are Woody Notes, Tonka Bean, Amberwood, Patchouli and Labdanum. I don't think this is a compliment getter but if you just want to smell nice within your personal bubble, I guess this one serves that purpose.

You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. Profondo arguably smells better from open to dry down, but if you need something that lasts the work day, the sweet, ambrox woody scent of absolu is what keeps going, long after profondos freshness becomes a memory. I don't get people saying it is overly sweet since I have actually had the experience of smelling fragrances much sweeter than this so this isn't anything overly sweet. With the ACQUA DI GIÒ ABSOLU fragrance for men we see an incarnation of the man, highlighting a wise and conscious sensibility, as well as an understanding of the elegance of refined luxury. Introducing Armani ACQUA DI GIÒ ABSOLU fragrance for men, celebrating the union between fresh water and warm wood. What Absolu did was understandable, Armani needed its take on the Invictus Aqua genre as it's became very profitable and even though I'm not a fan of AdG Absolu (it's a little too sweet for those hot summer days) I understand the business decision behind it and I can see why so many people liked it however trendy it is.

Absolu Instinct still has the classic fresh smell of Armani (Yo Whereas the Essenza and Profumo flankers have plenty of the original's DNA, Absolu is a radical departure. An absolutely beautiful rounded out fragrance it has the original ADG sea notes that makes it aquatic through the life of the fragrance. After 10 mins or so it starts to become woodier, the ebony wood gives a darker woody feeling and it also has this slightly, slightly smoky kind of hint to it. But if you, like me, prefer fresh scents and want something heavier in the cooler seasons, this is perfect.

I get a bit more of a floral touch from this one, reminding me just a tiny bit of YSL L’Homme in the fact they both have a slightly warm, masculine floral touch to them. The bottle and cap are very attractive, though the cap is not magnetic like some other AdG flankers. Altogether a different beast compared with Absolu that came a year before it, with freshness and sweetness dialled back and the facets above boosted significantly. Acqua di Gio Absolu celebrates the fusion of water and wood, an expression of a man's connection with nature, and the liberation of his inner strength and freedom.
