Atmos is not dishwasher safe. When it comes to the lid, please prevent liquid from getting inside and do not clean the lid under running water. Instead, clean with a damp, non-abrasive sponge or cloth and use mild soap, if needed. For thorough cleaning, the gasket and filter can be removed and washed separately. Similarly, we recommend hand-washing the stainless steel and glass canister with a damp, non-abrasive sponge and mild soap. Using a coarse sponge, brush, or other rough surfaces will scratch the finish of the lid and canister. To remove any dust or powders, you can use a pressurized can of air or use a squeaky clean blush brush. No coffee grinds or powdery substances, got it. What else is good for storing in Atmos besides coffee beans? Airtight Silicone Seal – Prevents the ageing and oxidation process by removing all the elements that cause it, protecting against odours and sunlight too.
Regardless, if you are looking for ground coffee storage, the really great ones are not an option, since the vacuum valve are prone to get clogged with coffee particles. You can use any of the airtight canisters to store your ground coffee. I know this isn’t what you want to hear. Ground coffee is more sensitive to oxygen than whole bean coffee, so it would benefit more from a vacuum canister. Great coffee means FRESH coffee. And the primary way to keep your beans from losing their flavour and punch is to keep public enemy number 1 – aka oxygen - away from them.

Do not store ground substances, like ground coffee or flour in the Atmos. This may clog the vacuum lid and prevent a proper vacuum seal. If you have a a budget to spend on a proper coffee storage, we recommend the vacuum coffee canister, which will keep the beans fresh for the longest time.This will ensure that your perfect espresso beans will stay the freshest possible for longer. Air molecules are tiny, and we've found that eventually air will find its way through even the best seals. It’s just like why you need to regularly inflate your bike or car tires. For this reason, we don't recommend Atmos for long-term vacuum storage (more than a week). Obviously, you can store your beans for as long as you'd like, but they will not indefinitely preserve the freshness of your beans.
