About this deal

The blue is a strong addition to the line-up in the iPhone Pro range, but despite the phone having Apple’s super-tough Ceramic Shield on the front, we would still suggest you pop this thing in a case. In any case, 'best' is heavily subjective here, but if you can handle the gargantuan proportions of a phone with a 6.7-inch screen, then this is easily the best iPhone Apple has ever made... until the aforementioned iPhone 14 makes an appearance. Fast-charge testing conducted with drained iPhone units. Charge time varies with settings and environmental factors; actual results will vary. This means that if the protagonist in your movie looks at someone else and stops speaking, the focus will shift to them and blur out the original speaker- it certainly looks dynamic and more movie-like. You can even alter the focus after the movie has been taken in the on-phone editing suite, if someone speaking doesn’t quite look as sharp as you want.

The effect is pretty stunning – even though it's not that new, as the iPhone and many other smartphones have had great screens for many years – and it’s worth remembering that you’re getting a phone that’s a genuine alternative to watching on the big screen when it comes to quality.

To test the iPhone 13 Pro Max in low light I shot these hydrangea flowers at night in nearly complete darkness. Why would you want that faster charger? Well, if you suddenly remember that you’re useless at life and have let your phone run out of battery, we found that in 15 minutes we could replenish the phone to a third full – enough for up to 10 hours of use, based on our testing.Magnetometer, Barometer, Accelerometer (G-Sensor), Proximity Sensor, Gyroscope Sensor, Light Sensor The news is not that great on the charging front, as the iPhone 13 Pro Max reaches just 50% capacity after 30 minutes using a 20W UBC-C charger, while other phones like the OnePlus 9 Pro and Xiaomi 11T Pro can get to 100% in 30 minutes or less. MagSafe charging, while convenient, is even slower at 15W.

The screen has been improved to not only include a 120Hz refresh rate, called ProMotion (which iPhone users have been asking for for years, but which to our eyes adds very little) but also higher maximum brightness and a smaller notch. Video Recording (at 24 fps, 25 fps, 30 fps or 60 fps), 1080p HD Video Recording (at 25 fps, 30 fps or 60 fps), 720p HD Video Recording (at 30 fps), Slow‑motion Video Support: Rear Camera (1080p at 120 fps or 240 fps), Front Camera (1080p at 120 fps) In terms of overall image quality, the iPhone 13 Pro Max is a step ahead of the other best camera phones. Take this photo of pumpkins, which has the sun overhead and a fair amount of shadow. The iPhone 13 Pro Max captures a more vibrant sign in the foreground and the pumpkins themselves look more vibrant than in the Galaxy S21 Ultra’s shot. However, Samsung’s photo is a bit brighter overall. The S22 is touted to have very impressive performance, courtesy of the Exynos 2200. By the way, to illustrate my point above even more clearly; the Exynos 2200 graphics are outperforming the A14 Bionic by over 50% while under throttling. I know... new gen vs last gen. Unfair, right? Another new iPhone 13 camera feature is Photographic styles, which lets you choose how you want your photos to look in terms of tone and warmth. Your options include standard, rich contrast, vibrant, warm, cool. Yes, the iPhone 13 Pro is totally worth buying. The iPhone 13 Pro has mostly been praised by reviewers, who were generally impressed. Here are some of the positive features to look out for- I mentioned a lot of this in a comment on Tom's Guide's 13 Pro review, but I would like to repeat it here too. (Link to that comment): No matter what you shoot, you won’t be disappointed in the iPhone 13 Pro Max’s video quality. In this sweeping shot of the Manasquan river, everything from the sky trees and puffy clouds to the rippling water and swaying branches looks DSLR-like. However, I did notice a little noise as I zoomed in at 3x. iPhone 13 Pro Max review: Performance
