I feel like the “becoming a villain” parts of these books are so rushed they almost feel fake or unbelievable. Becoming an apprentice of the famous pirate Blackbeard and setting out on many adventures, James never loses sight of his ultimate goal. Even though "everyone" advised him about his destiny/his fate, he didn't listened and now he is trapped in this horrible land with a worst roller as a villain.

In terms of characters, I think the reason I struggled to connect with James was that his actions felt selfish to me all along.

Belle has broken the enchantress' curse, restoring the Beast to his human form and bringing life back to their castle in the principality of Aveyon. Not only do Valentino’s stories give readers the opportunity to explore villains they know and love, readers are also introduced to new characters that operate behind the scenes of classic Disney plots, giving tales-as-old-as-time a bewitching new twist. When the crew rebels, Clarice/Clarence, an expert with rapier and dagger, sides with the handsome navigator, Dominick, and kills the cruel captain. I believe Hades is the subject of the next book, but I'm sure the Odd Sisters will figure into that somehow and turn Hades into a lame villain, much like they did to Hook in this book. Jack Skellington, the beloved Pumpkin King of Halloween Town, has grown tired of his home's annual scaring routines and longs for something new.

Sally Skellington is the official Pumpkin Queen after a whirlwind courtship with her true love, Jack, who Sally adores with every inch of her fabric seams—if only she could say the same for her new role as Queen of Halloween Town. Despite the book being based, at least in part, in Neverland, it wasn't until the Odd Sisters were part of the conversation that I felt any real magic about what was happening.

Then Kat meets Isadora, a new girl in town who challenges Kat to reexamine those expectations, opens her eyes to the possibility that ghosts are real, and makes her question who she truly wants to be . Almost as if they are walking the line of good and evil (leaning more so to the evil side than good lol but there’s still some good in them. Fans will delight in being reunited with some of their favorite Valentino characters, and there is also great humor in this story. with Mickey and Friends • Mickey's Magical Music World • Mickey presents: “Happy Anniversary Disneyland Paris” • Once Upon a Mouse • One Man's Dream II: The Magic Lives On!

Young Owen Hardy from the village of Barrel Arbor dreams of seeing the big city and the breathtaking Clockwork Angels that dispense wisdom to the people, maybe even catching a glimpse of the Watchmaker himself.

As he grows up, he hates his life in London, and everything to do with growing up and eventually becoming a gentleman.

I strongly recommend that Never Never be read as part of the series and not simply as a standalone novel. But when her mother gives her the original Katrina van Tassel's diary on the two-hundredth anniversary of the Headless Horseman's haunting, a new legend begins to take shape, weaving together the past and the present in eerie ways. But in Paris, the fires of change are burning, and it's only a matter of time before the rebellion arrives on their doorstep. I had a lot of trouble making sense of these conniving witches, the Odd Sisters, which I assume is because I haven't read the other 9 books in this series, but it seemed like a real stretch.

Thank you so very much to Disney Publishing and Netgalley for allowing me to read an advance copy of this book. As a villainous origin story, this book is really great, as it ties in straight to the original Disney movie/ fairy tale.
