Now I hope I don't scare anyone off but the beginning 80 pages or so read to me like a Catriona Ward novel but nowhere near the degree of difficulty she engages her readers with. Here, this husband and wife writing team tackle a frightening scenario so dreadfully evil that it is sobering to realize it is a scenario that has played out in reality.

The stats regarding book sales speak for themselves and will only increase with this forthcoming publication.I have long come to enjoy the work of Lars Kepler, especially with the detailed narrative and strong storyline. It is not clear how much time has passed between books, but The Mirror Man sees Joona Linna back to working full-time as a police detective as he encounters a new, dark mystery dating back several years. But when two of the victims are found to have disturbing connections to Detective Joona Linna, it becomes clear that there’s a single killer at work.

This series is new to me and I look forward to finding the time to read more of the books in this series. with one caveat - there is no figure of the crucified Jesus on the mink skull, I have been looking at them on the Internet. There is enough cruelty in the "Mirror Man", but it does not give the impression of unjustifiably exaggerated, and the terrible story under the motto: "Children play - mothers look at them" really scares, causes sympathy, makes you worry. But if an author does not take any risks at all, they also run the risk of losing readers as they will not see a reason to read new entries. After the events of Lazarus, The Mirror Man sees him struggling to reconnect with his daughter due to her seeing him kill Jurek Walter.At one point I was convinced I had the crime figured out, only to discover a twist I never saw coming.
