About this deal

Costco edition: Editions bought at Costco additionally include artwork on the inside of the dust jacket by Cassandra Jean featuring the characters of The Dark Artifices and The Mortal Instruments. The faeries are desperate to find out who is murdering their kind and they need the Shadowhunters' help to do it. The problem is, characters need to be somewhat interesting for me to care about them, but Clare's characters, as usual, aren't even remotely interesting nor well constructed. This is Emma's chance for revenge—and Julian's chance to get back his half-faerie brother, Mark, who was kidnapped five years ago. Overall, this is one of the best things I’ve read all year and I am so damn thankful that I read all those other books to get to this one.

I admit this, I got fed up by Clare's constant Edgar Allan Poe references and when I skimmed to the ending part and saw Annabel Lee from Allan Poe's poem being a mother fucking actual character in this book, I lost it and quit. i also love how there are many diverse characters and aspects, but they weren't the main focus; it's there and it's important but it's not flung in your face.Han sido dos años de dura espera, de estar pendiente de cada noticia, de decidir no leer adelantos para disfrutar aún más de su lectura… Dos años en los que se han creado unas expectativas que Cassandra Clare ha sabido suplir.

And I am literally posting this review and running back to my bookshelves to pick up Lord of Shadows! When the bodies of humans and faeries start turning up murdered in the same way Emma's parents were murdered years ago, an uneasy alliance is formed. I honestly screamed when this information was presented, even though we didn’t get to see my favorites in this book at all.Emma spent the whole book saying and proving she cares a great deal about Julian, duh she loves him, but she just doesn’t think about the consequences. Okay, I know child-caring in such a young age is hard, still I feel nothing when I read about the hardship he faces. She was such a mature character and she gave me and a lot of people new perspectives and while she was a rule follower, she was ready for everything and understood there were things higher than law and I just fell for her so hard. We are bound together, Emma, bound together- I breathe when you breathe, I bleed when you bleed, I'm yours and you're mine, you've always been mine, and I have always, always belonged to you!

i mean i knew this would happen but i did not expect to be so invested so besotted so in love with Julian and Emma to the the point that it as an all-consuming obsession. like i love them but do i want them to go through unimaginable pain and absolutely rue the day they were ever born? In a secret world where half-angel warriors are sworn to fight demons, parabatai are partners in battle; best friends. And Mark, who I actually got to know a bit in Bitter of Tongue, I grew to like him a lot in this book. Julian Blackthorn — Emma's parabatai, Jules has been responsible for his younger siblings, and indirectly the Los Angeles Institute, from a young age. From the creator of the Mortal Instruments series and Infernal Devices trilogy comes this epic first instalment of the author’s highly anticipated The Dark Artifices series.
