Our most popular compost, John Innes no3 compost is a rich mixture that is intended for final potting or for the re-potting of mature plants. I'm sorry to say this seems as though it was mixed with sand - but on the plus side has very few sticks (Quite a lot of stones but they're very small, I doubt they would do any harm if left in by mistake ) and it's very Fine , so you don't have sift the compost with your hands when sowing , which can take up a lot of time .
