About this deal

This 1997 pressing is damn near perfect, the best I've ever heard this album sound, with more depth, detail and low end than previous issues. Here we hear a blowing session that matches him with fellow tenorist Harold Ashby in a program of loose originals. Lady," "Manic Depression," "Purple Haze"), instrumental freak-out jams ("Third Stone from the Sun"), blues ("Red House," "Hey Joe"), or tender, poetic compositions ("The Wind Cries Mary") that demonstrated the breadth of his songwriting talents. AAA 100% Analogue This LP was Remastered using Pure Analogue Components Only, from the Master Tapes through to the Cutting Head.

Reprise executives, wanting in on the “rock thing” and having witnessed Hendrix’s literally incendiary performance licensed all the music recorded for Are You Experienced. Released in 1967, the LP was an immediate critical and commercial success, and it is widely regarded as one of the greatest debuts in the history of rock music. I've been playing this record in one version or another since August of 1967 and I knew there was a "mouth pop" on "Purple Haze" but nonetheless when it came I jumped and adrenaline flowed so present and 3 dimensional was the "pop. But Jimi did vocalize his frustration during later stage performances that "Red House," his superb original blues composition, had been pulled from the U. There is an inevitable degree of surface noise between the tracks and occasionally during quieter passages.

Classic rock doesn’t come much more classic than an album that features Purple Haze, Hey Joe and The Wind Cries Mary. We use cookies to give you the best possible experience on our site, provide personalised content and advertising, analyse our traffic, and ensure you see more of what you love. None of this prevented the album, released May 12, 1967, from becoming a huge critical and commercial U. And working together with Quality Record Pressings, this reissue is a true collector's gem — an Ultra High Quality Record (UHQR) release! Although the Mono master tapes were not left in a Taxi like the first mix of 'Axis', the original banded masters for the Mono mix have long since disappeared, with some tracks being cut for compilation releases, leaving only incomplete fragments of this mix still around today.Every UHQR is hand-inspected upon pressing completion, and only the truly flawless are allowed to go to market. While recording, the future working relationship between engineer Eddie Kramer and Hendrix was forged.

His Dylanesque vocals and spacey imagery make each tune a little gem, especially on gentle outings such as the ballad "The Wind Cries Mary". The 200-gram records feature the same flat profile that helped to make the original UHQR so desirable. unleashed Jimi Hendrix onto a world in the midst of such cultural and musical shake-ups that it really didn't seem as 'far out' as it actually was.Somewhere down the line that copy vanished, and listening again to the exquisite Third Stone From the Sun sends shivers down my spine. Fiedler’s performance of Offenbach’s Gaite Parisienne combines delightfully lyrical music with spectacular sonics to create an unforgettable listening experience.
