Feed-Thru plugs allow the individual conductors to "feed-thru" the end-face of the connector and to verify the wires prior to crimping connector. I have tried Ideal's as well as a knock off brand and the Klein has served me the best thus far, it seems to cut the wires the cleanest. I was helping a friend pull some cables recently and he had bought an Ideal feed thru crimp tool and some RJ45s to go with it. I’ve been using them a while and haven’t had a problem, but I’d like to know what to look for so that I don’t have an issue.
