Jolie Vines is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors because she creates heroes whose angst comes from within, but it doesn’t keep them from loving the heroine of the story. He does everything to steer clear of Ella and pushes her away but when both have been in love from that very first meeting, they can’t stay away forever. Pffff I loved everything in it, the struggle between Gordain and Ella, the difficulties they are challenged with .

The guy seems fine the girl seems fine but it’s just all so blah and awkward that I’m not going to force myself to finish. With practiced motions, he grasped my waist and pulled me close, his gaze taking in the space and the pair of open doors leading to the hall. Ella has finally broken out of her gilded cage, but with her limited life experience, she doesn’t trust her instincts. This one had a bit more of an edge that the others didn’t, and that was probably owing to the fact that Gordain had a seriously hot, dominant side to him that had me weak at the knees.The HEA was a long time coming - really, since this series began - and it was masterfully done, bringing the McRae clan full circle. I will finally admit that when I first started this series, I was chomping at the bit for Gordain's story. I floved the book ripping part in the apartment as well as the declaration Gordain makes at the chapel. Gordain and Ella’s lives have been so heartbreaking but the way they grow and heal one another is so incredible.

Ella's ready to move on to university and claim as much freedom as possible, but the only way she can get out from under her abusive uncle's guardianship before she's thirty is if she gets married. Reaching the short distance between our seats, he gave my fingers a squeeze, and it should have felt reassuring, it had certainly been intended as friendly, yet heat painted my cheeks.

With every new book I read in this series I find myself falling more and more in love with these Highlanders, but also with Jolie Vines writing. With James being an “honorary” McRae, there is no possible way that Ella and Gordain can avoid each other, despite try as they might. In the 2nd book, Love Most Say Least, we meet Ella and I instantly fell in love with her, so the two of them together?

The novel opens with excitement as Gordain flies a helicopter to rescue Ella from her family home of Belvedere and literally saves her from the clutches of her evil Uncle Richard. I enjoyed Ella and Gordain's developing relationship - both the "making eyes at each other" AND the "tear off each other's clothes" phase! His burning need for his best friend's younger sister is surely a knee-jerk reaction to his problems. His unhinged voice had come from the mansion’s central entrance hall, the echoes from the marble floors and high ceiling giving him away.This is the power of Vines’s story-telling, and it’s the reason that you should read her books, namely Hero. On cramped limbs, I shrank back in the musty cupboard, the strip of daylight under the door slicing over my ballet flats. The third instalment in the Marry the Scot contemporary romance series takes you away to big love in the splendour of the Scottish Highlands.

As always, Vines has a deft hand with love scenes and paints a love story with characters who are hopeful, yet vulnerable. I expected him to demand that I leave it—if he wanted to pick me up and throw me over his shoulder, I wouldn’t stand a chance. I really enjoyed this book and although the haven’t read the previous books in the series, I had no trouble; reading this one as a stand alone. Gordain really is a hero, he swooped in and saved Ella when the dastardly dick was going crazy in her and James house, but now Gordain is avoiding her and when Ella asks him to marry her yeah that doesn't go as planned. Gordain is best friend’s with Ella’ brother James and he comes to her rescue when James asks him to help Ella escape from their evil uncle Richard.
