Its a Grohe, so the pipework end of the flexible connectors are probably 3/8" BSP rather than 1/2" BSP. To expand on my earlier comment, my understanding is that BSP sizes were based on old-fassioned iron pipes. This will either attach to the adaptors (15mm male>3/8") referred to in the second reply to this post or will screw onto a 12mm compression thread (also 3/8") They will not screw onto 10mm compression fittings.
Remove the pipe from the isolation valves, fit the tail adaptors (you'll also need two new 15mm olives) - re-use the nuts from the pipes.Would be far simpler to get a tap that is British and just goes straight in where my existing flexis start - is there a good British brand? I can not put the sink out of action whilst having the hassle of looking for some pesky adapter on a Bank Holiday! Take the 10mm screw fitting off the new brass adaptor you've bought and screw on the new flexi tap connector.
