We reviewed the UK Ultra HD Blu-ray release of Full Metal Jacket on an LG 55B7 Dolby Vision 4K Ultra HD OLED TV with a Panasonic DP-UB450 Dolby Vision HDR10+ 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player . Every time I think of a certain scene , or watch the film again, and consider the details therein, I realize there’s another thing I missed. Grain texturing is light-moderate and mostly organic looking, but there is at least one shot where it’s obvious that some digital manipulation has been done. As you can tell from the comparisons above, still images or the slideshow, there’s a very tasty amount of film grain now visible that has been preserved, some scenes received a bit more color changes than others (namely the last still image further above). audio mix along with the film's original mono track, which is super rare for a release with Warner Bros. There is a good layer of grain here as well, keeping its filmic image stable, resulting in a natural and organic look of the film.I didn't own this movie on Blu-ray and haven't watched it for a while so it was a pleasure to watch in 4K. There are also a few lines of dialogue that reference other movies (Apocalypse Now, for one) which may or may not be intentional on SK’s part.

Full Metal Jacket comes to UK 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray courtesy of Warner who once again deliver the goods following their excellent 4K releases of 2001 and The Shining ( Spartacus and Dr.They afford us a tremendous native 4K presentation for this Ultra HD Blu-ray release, which really revels in director Stanley Kubrick's, here understated but nonetheless distinctive, colour palette. The original mono track is available for the traditionalist, but I’m drawn to the expansive six-channel DTS-HD soundtrack with plenty of deep bass response during war footage, and the dialogue is never lost. As far as its realism, I have spoken with at least 1 Vietnam veteran who said that this is the best movie about that war.
