In Part 2, Nikki and her BFFs Chloe and Zoey read a party planning book for really cool birthday party ideas. I understand that catchphrases can be important in the continuity of a series but I would have liked to have seen some new ones added to the ones that have been used for 13 books now. sorry Rachel Renee Russell but I feel like you just typed some random crap on a page and hoped for the best. André and Brandon are also back too and still rivalling it out over Nikki's affections as she finally decides what to do over the summer, band tour or trip to Paris?

Yet again another great Dork diary book comes out and it's a great read when I have nothing to read. Chloe, Zoey and Brandon have proven their loyalty time and time again, yet Nikki still questions their friendship and deliberately keeps things from them. What I feel is that in this book, Andrea might develop a crush on Nikki 😋and this might lead to a grudge between Brandon and him. If Nikki and her friends made it through a book without miscommunication causing all sorts of problems I’d be shocked. Obviously, Nikki is having a tough time focusing on doing the positions, and of course, MacKenzie and her mom have no problems perfectly forming each position!

I was glad when she chose Paris instead of the band because we would finally get to see the extent of the illustrator's artistic skill. It is the the second Dork Diaries book in which Chloe and Zoey appear on the cover, the first book being Double Dork Diaries.
