Very surprised with the longevity on this one, still projects after 5-6hrs and skinscent for 10hrs on me. On that particular morning, one doused oneself as usual, casually tossed the 200ml bottle back into the suitcase heard the crack then froze! Since 1967, Maison CERRUTI 1881 has been capturing the spirit of the times, creating a new and undisputed style for the modern man and woman. I think this is a pretty versatile fragrance, smells refined enough for slightly more formal occations, and probably manageable in winter too with some overspraying, though I would not use it after the sunset. An ideal choice for the stylish and confident man, the aftershave is housed in a simple yet memorable bottle.

It has a fresh earthy-vetiver opening, and then dries down to this wonderful warm woody oakmoss/cypress/juniper smoothness. On the negative side, this fragrance only lasts 5 hours and projects average to below-average on my skin, so I suspect my bottle of Cerruti 1881 for Men has been reformulated and is yet another victim in the war on oakmoss. Creates the emotions of living in an house in between the sea and a pine forest,of a clear day spending the time walking on the beach trying to reach the end of that coastside.

Freshness is also achieved here in a way that feels refreshing after so many ambroxan bombs of today. this was the smell of a man in early 90s, the clean smell of a man before the aquatic scents dominate everything. but even then I would reach for Jil Sander, Porsche Titan or a Ferragamo depending on the season (I`m 29).Unfortunately, I haven't tried any of the vintage formulations of 1881 so I can only vouch for the current formulation and oh boy.
