Though it didn't fit through the hole for the power supply on the pedal, I've found another use for it and am happy to have bought it, because it looks and feels like a reliable and durable piece of technique and there's nothing cheap about it, don't you worry - it's worth it. If the item comes direct from a manufacturer, it may be delivered in non-retail packaging, such as a plain or unprinted box or plastic bag. We celebrate the history and creativity of this land's First Peoples and pay respect to their Elders - past and present. I bought it for my DS-1 Boss pedal and the horrific screeching sound is awful, this pedal can't be used. Get rid of expensive batteries with this permanent accessory - an essential PSU for any studio, live or home guitar rig!

The PSA-230 can be used in conjunction with the Boss TU-3, LS-2 or NS-2 and Boss daisy chain lead to power up to 7 of your Boss pedals. Those are obviously not my copyrighted material, and while I have tried to mostly use official product images, some may be from other sources. Up for sale is a used Boss PSA-120 power adapter for powering Boss (and similar style, such as Ibanez) pedals.

The batteries were left inside the unit and the acid leaked inside and the original power adapter was long gone. This is why that power supply – and others like it – has a 12 volt/ACA setting on some of its outputs. For years, the unregulated ACA and regulated 9vDC PSA adapters – and the pedals they powered – lived side by side. Offering up 9v DC at up to 500mA to accommodate more than one pedal as the same time by using power supply link cables. The larger current draw of the new pedals didn’t fit the unregulated adapter system very well – remember that the voltage varies with the load – so Boss decided to start designing the new pedals to accept a regulated power source instead.

The trick with regulation is that the voltage stays constant from no load all the way up to the max capacity of the regulator (in the case of the PSA, 200mA). With its slim body design, the PSA-240 allows unrestricted access to adjacent power outlets for convenient connectivity. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item.

If you want to save money on batteries and ensure stable performance gig after gig, the BOSS PSA-120 adapter is the recommended power supply unit for products including many BOSS compact pedals, the DB-66/88 metronomes, FC-Series foot controllers, MC-202, SH-101, SP-202, TR-626, and all TU-Series tuners. Most of the Boss pedals require the normal PSA adapter, while some has a sticker that says ”ACA” on them. It includes electrical noise reduction, heat reduction and over voltage damage protection for your Boss PSU part PSA-230S. This is normal and expected behaviour, since the 9 volts fed to the pedal really is too little – it wants roughly 12 volts on the adapter input, remember?
