About this deal

We know travelling with a little one can be stressful at the best of times, especially when they have to stay away from the comfort of their own bed. For example, if the travel cot will be used for overnight stays at relatives or friends every month, you won’t need to worry too much about weight and the ease of assembly – especially if it can remain constructed. However, we are an unusual case as we have twins and certainly two of these would not work when packing a car up. A travel cot can be doubled as a playpen, allowing you to leave the room knowing your baby wont come to any harm whilst you’re gone once they have started to find their feet (or knees). You might just need to be sure you have a sizeable hotel room as this is essentially normal cot size once it is put up.

It's not the most compact travel cot when it's assembled and is still quite large when it's folded — it's wide and square, which may be awkward to transport in smaller car boots. I am also impressed with the self-inflating mattress as this feels really supportive and yet comfortable. Do not use the travel cot when the child reaches 86cm in height, weighs more than 15kg or is able to climb out. Doubling as a playpen, FoldLite conveniently travels from playdates to Grandma’s and anywhere in between. Make sure the travel cot has a rigid frame and base and that it meets all the relevant safety standards.Wherever you are, it requires no assembly, no special techniques–you can pop it open easily for naptime. It weighs 13 kgs and is very thoughtfully designed with a padded top rail and wipe-clean soft fabrics. The wipe clean design and removable washable cover make it easy to care for and clean in the event of little accidents. A comfy mattress and a transport bag are included, and the cot is super-easy to set up in just one move! Its folded dimensions are 49 x 60 x 14 cm which is pretty small really, but if you are trying to pack a car then this suddenly seems quite big.

What does it mean that the materials meet the requirements of OEKO-TEX Standard 100, Class 1 for baby products? You may need to run through it with anyone else that’s going to be using your travel cot, such as a childminder or grandparent. Although this cot doesn't have an all-in-one pop-up assembly, it's still easy to put up and down, so much so that some of our home tester parents didn’t need the instructions. A drop-down side offers the option to safely co-sleep with your babe, so you can have that extra sense of security when you’re in unfamiliar surroundings. My baby also sleeps well in this cot thanks to the generously sized mattress space, and he doesn’t keep banging into the sides like he has before in smaller designs. I loved that this felt like it would be comfortable for my baby especially when going away for a few weeks. If you’ve got a busy kid on your hands, ensuring they have a safe space to play and nap is critical. With a travel cot disassembly is usually a matter of a few minutes (or even seconds) and some of the travel cots on our list fold small enough to fit in a suitcase or overhead locker alongside the stroller. so we checked it into the hold at the airport along with our suitcase for no extra cost (most airlines include a travel cot within a child’s baggage allowance).

Our range of travel cots from reputable brands like Joie, Chicco, and Maxi Cosi will give you peace of mind that your baby has a bed as safe and comfortable as a cot or cot bed to sleep in whilst travelling. We use a travel cot for our youngest child when visiting grandparents and friends and use another as a safe travel playpen for his older brother on holidays. When I had my youngest, I used to pop up the travel cot when I had housework to do or if someone came to the door, he would go in it.You’ll also need a lightweight sheet to go over the mattress, but make sure this is fitted and there’s no loose fabric that baby could pull over their face. Cali also praised its different elements, "The CoZee Go makes a great playpen, the zip opening was especially good for giving my son the freedom to come and go as he pleases. It does sit quite high up so the exact functionality will differ depending on the type of bed you have, but in those early days when mum is healing it could be a lifesaver.
