The push action dims both headphones and main outputs and you can also mute just the speaker outputs using the speaker button.

Sound quality from the headphone out is also good - definitely good enough for monitoring while recording.The periodic ripple (presumably mostly to be blamed on the ADC - try a different sample rate) is maybe +/-0.
