From my understanding the switch alternates the direction of the current running from the switch to the motor. Doing it this way means that you can easily connect a window roll up module for an alarm: disconnect one wire from the window motor and connect to 12v. The 5 pin ones I can find will fit but the 6 pin ones are too small hence hoping to be able to use the 5 pin ones.
