About this deal

The company's FX-8370 chip has a thermal design power rating (TDP) of 125 watts, while Intel's (very roughly comparable) Core i7-6600K has a TDP of 91 watts. So we were wondering how close it could be pushed to its higher-end Ryzen 7 counterparts when overclocked. SMT is similar to Intel's Hyper-Threading, which allows demanding software that's written to take advantage of it to tackle two computing threads on each core. SHREDDER původně napsal:how can it be good for productivity but not for gaming since gaming is less demaning? Power draw readings are accurate to around +/- 5W due to fluctuations in the value even at sustained load.

The main settings worth tweaking for CPU overclocking are the CPU VCore, loadline calibration, and SOC voltage to aid stability especially with higher-speed memory kits. This is my long overdue review on the Ryzen 7 1700, as an early adopter of Ryzen in July of last summer, I will go over the benefits of this processor and how far AMD has come in terms of competing with Intel and how AMD is a more viable option moving forward.Games that this CPU can run include Fortnite, Apex Legends, Minecraft, PUBG, GTA V, League of Legends, Overwatch and Rainbow Six Siege. This is also shown in tests such as 7-Zip and Handbrake which have an affinity for memory bandwidth. AMD aimed the Ryzen 7 1700 at the Core i7-7700K, which makes sense given that the two chips have similar pricing. As we noted in our Ryzen 7 1800X review, many of the new AM4 motherboards AMD's partners are rolling out around Ryzen are surprisingly affordable. bat) file to enable most of the CPU's overclocking features (something that, at least for the moment, must be done via the command line), we started adjusting the core clocks, inching up the slider for all CPU cores as a unit.

And the underside will look familiar to the AMD faithful; the Ryzen chips still use pins on the CPU itself, not the socket-side pins and on-chip contacts that Intel has long since moved to.On the topic of that 65W TDP, we can already foresee the excitement of the 1700 to Small Form Factor (SFF) users once the AM4 mini-ITX motherboard situation improves.

Update 17/03/2017: AMD has announced that Ryzen 7 1800X and 1700X have a +20°C temperature offset on the reading currently displayed by software, over the actual junction temperature. For more information regarding Ryzen 7 and the AM4 platform, read our launch review for the Ryzen 7 1800X HERE. Ryzen 7 1700, just like its bigger brothers, proves itself to be a solid option for multi-threaded workloads. So, we've switched to a much more taxing (and time-consuming) video-crunching test that uses a nice, big hunk of 4K video.Want a Ryzen-based board that lets you overclock and install a single high-end graphics card such as the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti or one of AMD's upcoming "Vega" cards? AMD's entry-level Ryzen 7 chip impresses on multi-core tasks, and our test chip overclocked to nearly 4GHz. As you see from the specs evrything is 2 years old except gpu which will become 5 years old in 1 month.
