Like all the others I read this in one or two sittings in spite of the fact that some parts did not involve as much action as we have come to expect from this series. Socket the head against the palm, poke the shaft out between the index and middle fingers, and you’ve got a fairly decent knuckleduster. Starting with an opening sequence that throws three huge surprises at Reacher, there are more neat tricks and clever set pieces in this one volume than Mr. I found out about Jack Reacher late, so I didn't have to wait for annual installments until about 5 books ago.And, not having written a review since "A Wanted Man", which came out after the casting of the Reacher movie, I have to say the movie itself wasn't awful. Ultimately, it remains difficult to know exactly what Reacher feels about Susan, or how deeply; this is a characteristic of all the novels.
