Okay, I can’t say I totally remember what popular 1990s soda Surge tasted like, but I remember it being like a more citrusy Mountain Dew. Those who prefer black coffee or unsweetened coffee would probably find Mean Bean and other flavors sickeningly sweet (33g of sugar + Sucralose)!

Not only did setting out to find the best Monster flavor not kill me, it genuinely put me in a good mood. I think it would have been an even better drink if they had double the amount of caffeine of regular coffee.

In terms of formulation, Java Monster appears to contain the same “Energy Blend” as regular Monster.
