T.L Smith consistently provides us with refreshing spicy scenes, it’s not always the same ol same ol. Alaska is used to being on her own and taking care of herself but when Zuko enters her life in more ways than just one she's not sure how to navigate the secrets she's keeping. I’m having a really hard time getting into this book because the female narrators voice sounds complexly AI generated with a slight Midwestern mom lilt to it. As a first time mom to a handsome 5 month old son, I kinda felt unattractive but after reading this book.

It probably says more about me than the book, but I thought this could have been a little crazier and darker?Alaska is such a strong woman, when she says something she means it and follows up with any threat too. The way he would take care of Alaska, worried and cared for her was cute 🫂 I loved his twin brothers Kyson and Kenzo moments! L. Smith is a dark romance standalone with themes that might be triggering for some readers so do proceed with caution. I 1000% love everything about this book between the two main characters the storyline the fact that they have such a funny witty back-and-forth banter between them, spice between them between you know everything there’s a little bit of sexual tension there is spice and then there’s you know a little bit of violence with the main character and some other characters and you know it’s just all around funny book.

It's a fun read however with lots of back and forth but we don't get into the nitty gritty and this story had so much more to give. if you're a fan of touch her and die then this is the one for you, it also has mafia-esque/forced proximity vibes, the spice is 🤌 and the banter between characters is witty and felt authentic, I can't wait for more books in this universe, Thankyou so much to the author for an arc!This book is the first one in this trilogy and it hooks you right in from the beginning with all the hate, drama, betrayal, hurt, lies, family, friends and love. There was not a moment where I was not laughing gasping about some I was laughing about what happened I was gasping at some of the spice there was just absolutely everything that you wanted and it was just wholeheartedly a great book and I cannot wait to read books 2 and three and sorry listen to books 2 and three And I am just on the edge of my seat waiting for the next one. What do you get if you put a bunch of psychopath hunter/killers together and then add a FMC who is also less than mentally stable? But I live on the edge, and he seems like a man it would be fun to annoy, and despite all the warnings I have received I just can’t help myself with him. Honestly, I think she’s perfect for Zuko, and likewise he is for her, she centres him and doesn’t take any nonsense.
