The dates below reflect a 12-week booking for the Christmas holiday (November 1 through January 31). Charles Schulz, the creator of Snoopy, Charlie Brown and the Peanuts gang, invented universally loveable characters in his comic strips, which remain timeless to this day. A sweet little book for Christmas and one we’ll be adding into our book advent for next year, we have a fair selection now!
The special was commissioned and sponsored by The Coca-Cola Company, and was written over a period of several weeks, and produced on a small budget in six months.At its peak, Peanuts ran in over 2,600 newspapers, with a readership of 355 million in 75 countries, and was translated into 21 languages. After coming up with an idea (which he said could take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours), he began drawing it, which took about an hour for dailies and three hours for Sunday strips.A poor condition book can still make a good reading copy but is generally not collectible unless the item is very scarce. Unfortunately none of the presents quite go to plan and all of Charlie Brown’s friends land in a big heap in his garden! USA Today summarized the program's appeal upon its 40th anniversary in 2005: "Scholars of pop culture say that shining through the program's skeletal plot is the quirky and sophisticated genius that fueled the phenomenal popularity of Schulz's work.
