About this deal

That's the one thing that I hated about the DVD version was that you had to switch discs midway through the movie and have hoped they fixed it on the Blu-ray release even though I hear the blu-ray is also 2 disc. mostly has the cast talking about their love of the source material, and the changes that were made - like the snipping out of Tom Bombadill. The darker scenes are still the highlight – including the standout Battle of Helm’s Deep sequence – with no black crush and solid shadow delineation. Where the previous release boasted intermittent scenes of excellence, but frequent lacklustre moments, this new transfer maintains a much higher overall standard throughout the runtime. One birthday, upon the guidance of his old friend Gandalf the Grey (Ian McKellen), Bilbo bequeaths his possessions to his nephew, so he may live out his life creating a novel of his adventures.

A trilogy of classic, frankly must-see movies that transport you to another world, rich with all of the lush landscapes and epic effects that we have, more recently, seen in the likes of Avatar, but also boasting well-developed characters, decent dialogue and a multi-layered storyline to hold it all together. But be aware that the versions on this set aren't just the same prints with the extra footage added in. The Packaging for this Blu-ray was conceived in close collaboration with the filmmakers and artists and includes conceptual sketches throughout.

How much/what is shown in these extended scenes and do they add, or detract to the Peter Jackson showcase of LOTR? All three of the films included in this extended edition boxset are amazing, and they get even better as they go along. This 15-disc set included the original 9 special-features DVDs with over 26 hours of spellbinding behind-the-moviemaking material, including the Costa Botes documentaries. e. those Botes documentaries), the only real issues are in relation to Fellowship, which was also, video presentation-wise, the most controversial entry when last year’s first dip of Blu-rays came out.The Fellowship of the Ring' certainly was a unique and innovative fantasy film upon its release in late 2001, redefining a genre with its lengthy narrative, gorgeous scenery, and numerous themes and messages, all mixed in with sorcery, mischief, and old fashioned warfare. The long spoke of "Mouth of Sauron" scene, in which a nefarious ambassador (Bruce Spence) meets Aragorn's army at the Black Gates, takes about a minute.

Besides Sauron, Saruman, and Gandalf, the only character to get real attention is Aragorn, the hidden/obscured/irrelevant king. They meet Aragorn (Mortensen) who helps them get to Elrond (Hugo Weaving) so they can decide what to do with the ring. The first disc also includes a couple of other tiny extra: the 3 minute MTV movie awards parody with Jack Black and Sarah Michelle Gellar; and a new HD trailer for the upcoming The Lord of the Rings: War in the North – the Untold Story videogame release. which talks about the planning that went into making the film, along with “Early Storyboards,” which offers a look at “The Prologue” (8 min. Unfortunately Duncan developed terminal cancer, but he provided the inspiration for the Oscar-winning song "Into the West. The formation of the fellowship was a great point to finish a disk but the rest of them just seem to cut off at less conclusive points, which is jarring.
