This collection was ported to Nintendo Switch and Xbox One on 30 October 2018 in North America and on 2 November in Europe. LEGO Hogwarts is a grand, immersive 3D environment and the largest, most detailed LEGO game location ever built for everyone to explore and enjoy. Games created the label Portkey Games and expanded the series to include a pair of Lego video games. It appears the LEGO Harry Potter Collection coming to Nintendo Switch could be more than a rumour, with an official rating for the game now surfacing via the Game Software Rating Regulations body in Taiwan.

Book of Potions and Book of Spells both built for the Wonderbook, received mixed reviews from critics. Potion-making is another integral feature; potions can help the player complete levels or, if created incorrectly, have adverse side effects such as turning the player into a frog. I owned the first two harry potter games for a PC, and after remembering having so much fun with those I was really excited for the 5th game. The series was split into two: Lego Harry Potter: Years 1–4 was released in 2010 followed by Lego Harry Potter: Years 5–7 in 2011.

This version removed many of the puzzle sections found in the first game and replaced them with action sections and boss fights. The game was initially released on 25 June 2010 in Europe, 29 June 2010 in North America, and 30 June 2010 in Australia and New Zealand for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, Wii, Xbox 360, Nintendo DS, and PlayStation Portable. The game was released in June 2010 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, Wii, Xbox 360, Nintendo DS, and PlayStation Portable, Android in November 2010, OS X in January 2011, iOS in September 2016, PlayStation 4 in October 2016, and for Nintendo Switch and Xbox One in October 2018 as part of the Lego Harry Potter Collection, which bundles the game with its sequel, Lego Harry Potter: Years 5–7. GameSpot gave the console versions an 8/10, complimenting the "large amount of secrets and charm", and disagreed with the Nintendo Magazine, saying it was both "easily the best Harry Potter game to date", and "one of the finest Lego adventures to date". The flying was pretty easy and the potion making is ok (but sometimes longwinded and slow which was frustrating with a time limit). In addition, it was nominated for "Best Adapted Video Game" for the Spike Video Game Awards in 2010. This game is good but rather repetitive, mainly making potions and wand battles, although we are not very far into it so it may get better.

Duelling is probably the most common of the 3 games and can be difficult against bosses so early in the game and time consuming as lots of people try to challenge you. Trying to collect crests loses its interest after a while especially when it is impossible to reach them.
