When I was a kid in Brazil, we had this "Mate Leão" tea (today it's owned by Coca-Cola), very popular late afternoon drink, that was delicious, warm and obscenely cheap. I can't remember it having bad performance back then because it just jumped off your skin all night long and got loads of compliments. Being that the scent has been described many times below, I will just add that this scent is very masculine in a very good way. While hanae mori is close, I find that to be heavier - more suited for fall and winter - and less calming and refreshing. Breau - As one who discovered GPH II only in the last 2-3 years, I think recency and stylistic trends might have something to do with people's varied reactions. The older batches perform better and the tobacco note is more pronounced, but it's hard to find now and not worth the effort with so many modern-day fragrance choices.The tea and the cinnamon are what come across strongest to my nose, and it’s such an interesting blend. After the initial violet burst fades away, you're left with a beautiful, clean, relaxing scent that people might feel is not coming off you but something around you. To this day, there is no detectable change in the scent or its performance (the latter being meh to start with). This stuff is overrated, it smells like Moschino Toyboy not even kidding, this is Toyboy with a hint of cinnamon and spices. But that is what makes it a great office scent, who wants to accost everyone and bring about a no scent policy anyways.

kameron - Try Gods Night - it's kind of a "light" version of the OG that is luckily quite inexpensive. I rarely think about it, but when I do, it sort of feels like Gucci burned a photo album of mine when they discontinued this (being overly dramatic). The fragrance has kept the same gorgeous elegant and masculine features of its predecessor, but has become brighter and lighter.There’s nothing wrong with having an opinion, but when it’s contrary to reality it becomes a delusion. It's loss was tragic, but like eventually finding a new girlfriend, I found Houbigant's Duc de Vervins L'Extreme and a decade later Dior's Eau Sauvage Parfum and I got over the loss. considering the modern offering, this scent smells now more complex, interesting and very masculine. It's too bad the performance of this fragrance is so below average, as the smell of the fragrance itself is one of my absolute favourites. I had a colleague come over at my desk and while talking to me, have a look at my cup to see if I was sipping tea.

I have 2 older bottles from 2010-2015 period and it was ok, nothing groundbreaking but a solid cypress-tobacco-woody scent.At the base the black tea is still there i do get a hint of tobacco i dont know about the olive tree or myrrh as i dont know whats the smell of myrrh the musk barely noticable. Perfumes with natural ingredients often smell different in batches based on the source of the ingredients, while synthetic ingredients usually have consistency in their smell and lasts longer. For example, some top note citrus scents smell stronger immediately upon application, while a lavender middle note may be sensed after some time from application as the top note evaporates.

Between it's introduction and its discontinuation I probably wore Gucci Nobile for business and office wear more than any other fougere. It's at the mid notes that you get a craving for more of what this scent has to bring, but it is also at this point that the scent just seems to restrain itself. Thanks to my fellow Fragrantican friend, Asrul Afrizal Anuar that help me find the last bottle of first batch of Gucci by Gucci Pour Homme.It may seem ordinary when you first smell it, but as someone who has used hundreds of different perfumes, I can say that when you smell it again days later, it fascinates you.
