This flour allows you to bake fresh, warm brown bread at home - either in the oven or in a bread making machine if you have one. Let’s be honest though… Gluten free bakes have (justifiably) gained a reputation for being a bit sub-standard… The sort of food that ‘normal’ people don’t eat (or want to eat).

I tried this with the GF recipe that came with my bread maker, and also the recipe on the packet for breadmaker: tasty but brick; solid, heavy and dense. Angelique kept saying she regularly does a detox and I always thought it was because she was way more devoted than everyone else, but I get it now. The culprit ingredient was the Carob in the flour - I am allergic to peanuts and soya and Carob is a relative to these, a legume. This easy gluten free bread recipe is simple to follow, uses basic ingredients, and creates one, 2lb loaf.This bread will stay fresh covered tightly on the kitchen counter at room temperature for a day, but I wouldn't risk more than that. The recipe's on the back of our flour packs have been improved and updated, but our flour blend itself has not changed. Packed with mixed seeds and using a brown gluten free bread flour blend, it's the delicious cousin of my easy gluten free white bread recipe! Angelique is extremely professional and knowledgeable in her field, and I instantly wanted to know more so booked a 1:1 session (which was also excellent! I’m not going to make any absurd claims: this bread is best eaten fresh on the day - or refreshed in the oven after that.

But fear not, this sticky batter transforms into a delicious bread which is soft and springy inside.utterly superb flour, the bread made from this using the recipe from my panasonic breadmachine , is superb. Even though I am still asked about my favorite bread machine from time to time, I continue to insist that bread machines are a waste of money. If you don't have a stand mixer, I don't recommend a handheld mixer, which just doesn't offer the right style of attachment. Blended from naturally gluten free ingredients, use this flour as an alternative to bread flour made from wheat.

I will be throwing the remainder of the flours away and not wasting any more time and expense on this bread. Five years later, in 2009, I stumbled upon a recipe that was known as “ Tom's Bread” on the Internet. How many times have I read your “use recipes exactly as written” comments without realising I was using the wrong the critical ingredient.I’m Kate – An Award Winning gluten free recipe developer, traveller, photographer, blogger and mum to a Coeliac teenager… living Coeliac life without limits. I just followed my normal bread making recipe and added a teasp of bicarbonate of soda to help the rising. Ingredients: Flour blend (rice, tapioca, potato, gram, buckwheat, carob), sugar beet fibre, thickener (xanthan gum). Have found that the brown flour does not make such a light loaf (which I don't mind) - but it often rises excessively around the edges and sinks hugely in the middle, making for a very strangely shaped loaf.

Long ago tweaked the recipe, it does not rise like a commercial loaf but would not expect it to, very quick and easy to make by hand - great results everytime. This was great because it included seeds of different shapes and sizes, which gave the gluten free brown bread a great texture. It tends to last a couple of days fresh but after a day I slice and freeze into portions ready to grab out when needed. As we are constantly reviewing and developing our products to meet our consumer needs, consumers, particularly those that suffer from allergies and intolerances, should always check product labelling, warnings, and directions provided with the product that is delivered, prior to use or consumption.In fact, most recipes for gluten free bread that you'll find elsewhere on the Internet (and in cookbooks that aren't, well, mine), are in this style. So glad you enjoyed this bread, Debra, and that you’re committed to careful ingredient selection and measurements. Also, please be sure you’re using the proper gluten free flours in the proper proportions as measured by weight, or the recipes won’t turn out. Our suppliers have declared that both non GM corn and soya are used as a starting product, but are stated by the factory as not present in the finished Xanthan Gum product.
