Julian and Christian switched personalities in this book, but instead of being a funny pathetic like Christian was, he's just a sad pathetic. A character who spends half the book disapproving of and lying to his girlfriend is your favorite love interest? They had one good scene when they were laughing about Christian's sex tape, so I guess there's that. I truly don't understand why she even bothered to give Daisy books because it's very clear her heart isn't in it. AND TO THINK THAT IVE ALREADY READ EVERYTHING THAT WENT DOWN BETWEEN MAGNOLIA AND JULIAN IN LONG WAY HOME?

Julian's character was done the biggest disservice in this book and it just wasn't believable at all. i love julian, but i can’t lie even tho i get why he made the choices he made, they were still a little pathetic.but for fuck's sake it's not believable that every single man in the world falls in love with her C'MON NOW. Everything gets more complicated when beautiful, broken-hearted socialite Magnolia Parks enters the scene and Julian finds himself entangled with her. Earlier I discussed how Magnolia was in the dark about Julian's job, and Julian did not do A SINGLE THING to enlighten her.

Reading in DH3 how Julian finds out about Bridget and Magnolia marrying BJ (as she should) is going to hurt. And all he knows about her he knows it because he investigated her not because she told him this stuff. imo julian deserves way better than magnolia, because we all know magnolia can’t love another man like she loves beej. i felt so conflicted on what to rate this book because i know if this was just a christiandaisy book i would be in love. my love’s DaisyChris deserve a whole ESSAY for how adorable they were — or would’ve been if we had more content of them just being cute *gets a murderous glint in eyes* — ugh there were two iconic scenes in this book and I loved them!I can’t trust anything I think I see in his feelings for me — I can’t read him, even if he’s the only thing I ever want to read for the rest of my life. And I just have to say… a meeting with the most dangerous men of the country in Julians house is unrealistic. In the other three books, Magnolia was portrayed as a very sweet girl with a large personality who was maybe a bit too ditzy and obsessed with fashion. and last but not least; please jessa have some mercy on my man’s heart i don’t think it can take anymore, like do you hate him or something ? this book would 100% have been a five-star read if i had gotten a little more daisychristian and a little less magnolia.

I love julian but if his pov’s are gonna continue to be magnolia parks centered that feel like recaps of the magnolia parks books then I’m sorry but his POVs need to go….Truthfully, I started to get a bit nervous about this book once the "promo" for it started, but we will get there. Eyes are just as much trouble as they’ve always been, coloured like honey split on leaves in autumn. daisy left her old life behind, because she wanted to be done with all the crime and just be normal for once. i saw someone else say that it feels like jessa doesn’t actually like or care about daisy/her storyline and yeah, i would agree. Daisy Haites thought she'd left everything about her old life in the past: the crime, her family and the man she loves.
