The city of Montardor is Zeno’s personal chessboard and he will stop at nothing to make me his queen. Every part of it was wild and dangerous and I loved that the characters, much like in Trapped With You, are morally grey.Both some of the scenes and the dynamic between the MCs reminded me of my own book and I loved seeing similar elements here! She has captured the dark mafia romance genre really well and I’m beyond excited to read more of her work. Alexandra is a senator's daughter, used to mingling in the company of the rich and powerful, but tonight she will learn that there are men who play by different rules. Our darling couple has one magical night made in hell and then it’s back to their own lonely corners of the universe.

I went into the book knowing their kinks and knowing it’s not my preference therefore I did skip quite a few of the smut, but it was always mutually consented between! My love for Trapped With You runs deep but this is another level 🔥It was great to read about Darla and follow her story after little glimpses we got in book 1. His love language is giving gifts and it's just so precious to see how much attention he pays to her to know what she likes. Sadly, he hasn't met the woman to make his secret yearning come true, until he meets Contessa Warren. I hate his laugh, and most of all, I hate how he makes me feel—so completely alive with every forbidden kiss.But instead, it turned out to be these three things: heartbreaking, hard to read and a crazy emotional rollercoaster. Darla believes she’s cursed to a loveless existence and Zeno seems to have the weight of the underworld on his shoulders. Also did i mention that this man’s love language is giving gifts because the amount of gifts this dude bought Darla, and the fact that they all had meaning behind them was so adorable because he was always listening to her and if Darla said she ever dreamed of having something. He was the proud enforcer of the Costa Family who perhaps enjoyed the violent, bloody parts of his job a bit too much.

And when he learns this fact after he married the heroine, he tells us he feels disguted that she was killed in that condition, but that's it. And there was sm filler OMFDS I just could not be bothered skimming literal chapters just to get to the part where the MCs interact. my only complaint is that i felt they had very less fluffy and wholesome scenes without the sexual aspect ( and i understand that some couples express their love through intimacy or sex) but im a girl who prefers both the sweet moments and the dark debauchery sex.

This book is quite different, in my opinion, to a normal mafia romance book, as in the plot line isn’t based on a mafia or like a gang and it’s one thing i liked about it. Born to the mob, abused by the mob, she is now ready to rise up and take over her dead husband's mafia holdings. We just needed a little peace, some time to add new members, build our club up, so we could take on whatever threats were coming our way. First of all, they referred to each other has Hades and Persephone, a beautiful couple from the Greek Mythology.
