About this deal

Mulch each spring with a thick mulch of well-rotted organic material such as homemade compost, leaf mould or well-rotted manure. As well as containing all the nutrients listed, the product contains essential plant oils and a natural surfactant. Buxus is found in most gardens due to its versatility and ability to grow well in a wide range of soils and situations but requires a specific mix of nutrients to keep it looking in tip-top condition. For individual 15-20cm (6-8in) containers or bare-root plants, take 60g (2oz) of feed and sprinkle part of it into the bottom of the planting hole and fork in. In early spring (March) apply 60g for plants up to 60cm (2 feet); for plants 90-120cm (3-4 feet) apply 120g and for standard trees use 180g.Mulch adds nutrients to the soil as it breaks down that can be taken up by the roots of your plants. Vitax Buxus Feed contains vital plant foods and trace elements required for good establishment and strong healthy growth of Buxus. In the spring following planting, sprinkle 60g (2 oz) of Buxus Feed evenly under the branches of the shrub. An organic approach is always best and you may not need to do any more than mulching when growing box trees in the ground. Plants in pots will need regular low-level nutrients to replace those washed out due to watering: a liquid seaweed feed works well.
