To achieve the ultimate private finish, we recommend covering existing fencing with dark tarpaulin before stapling the bamboo screening into place.

After installing the screens, you can apply our Bamboo Protector, a specially developed colourless/transparent stain that protects the bamboo from tarnishing and discolouration. Once the poles are installed in your project in the UK, normal temperature fluctuations cause the bamboo to expand and contract. The new growth is green at first but as they mature, the arching canes (culms) get the distinct black colour that give this bamboo variety its name. These include providing shade and privacy, disguising less attractive areas of the garden, such as compost heaps, or to simply add a bit of decoration to your home.
