As Helen and James navigate their feelings for one another, a trip back to Glasgow in Series Two presents a dilemma which leaves James having to decide whether to follow his head or his heart. However I will gladly purchase all of the seasons in probability since I deem the TV series as excellent. When local farmer's daughter Helen Alderson (Rachel Shenton) attracts James' attention, he finds another, more enduring reason to stay in the Dales. I always believe an author’s book is the best source and a truthful and original authority so I disliked the departure from the book and believe that the story about James and Helen’s relationship (which is endearing, sweet, and very romantic) was sadly and absolutely overlooked.

One season was just stuck inside the plastic case loose (the plastic case only has spaces for 6 seasons). He soon discovers that treating the animals is as much about treating their owners, and the Dalesʼ farmers are a tough crowd to please. Straight off the bat with our on-set vet adviser Andy Barrett, we were up close and personal with horses, sheep, kind of going through the procedures and things that we would be doing.

Overall this may actually be an improvement on the earlier versions and for a pandemic-stressed audience the sort of pleasurable entertainment with touches of grit that is very welcome. Experience the phenomenally successful series, All Creatures Great and Small complete series dvd box set.

Hope when they make series 3 and issue DVD the 2nd Chistmas special is included without purchasing previous series. And now, "another one" (Yorkshire folk's welcome for the new assistant James Herriot, when he started his job with Siegfrid Farnons rural surgery) - not a better one, but also interesting, humorous, enjoyable. Superb performance by the cast of the new updated series, The first show in 1978-1990 was ok, but it didn’t get the characters right as described by the books, Siegfried was too old, and Tristan, the first Helen, and James were not on the mark. Excellent acting, great stories although the relationship describing Helen’s engagement to the gentleman highlighted is purely fiction and did not happen.

Not to worry, though, because further series are planned no doubt complete with the gorgeous Dales scenery and a collection of local farming folk who say it as it is and don't hand out compliments very easily. There are several actions that could trigger this block including submitting a certain word or phrase, a SQL command or malformed data.
