About this deal

Billionaire Mrs Surya, CEO of WECU, will hand over not only the cash, but exclusive access to her secret space programme. They need a big story - and when a meteor crashes to Earth, and there's a competition to find it, Ajay and his friends find themselves in a space race to Jaipur! It’s a fantastic independent book seller that will actually be responsive and select appropriate books for you. I was at my last school for 4 years and we had ********* book fairs every term – and every term, I was disappointed by the narrow range of books. Raises a number of different ethical and current issues in a way that was thought provoking but not heavy handed. Getting to Jaipur is just the beginning - because waiting for them is an opponent with a terrifying ambition.Ajay held up the faluda-pink paper in triumph (although sadly, no one else seemed to have noticed his amazing feat of skill and dexterity). Ajay’s wish has come true – he’s a news reporter for the paper he and his friends set up, The Mumbai Sun. It's a great adventure with a cast of lovely characters and I enjoyed it just as much or even more than the first one! Finding an abandoned printing press, he and his friends Saif, Vinod, Yasmin and Jai create their own newspaper: The Mumbai Sun.

Yourself and Bob are much cherished in our booky world and I personally really appreciate everything that you do. There was just the right amount of choice to suit everyone without being overwhelming and I received comments from parents and staff about the quality of books offered compared to previous sales which have always been based around current crazes and well known celebrity authors. It was such a pleasure to meet you both, and I really appreciated how smoothly and professionally you ran everything.I have even talked the head into a little revamp of the library so that we can display them properly! Soon Ajay, Saif, Vinod, Yasmin and Jai are travelling to Jaipur, determined to find the meteor and win the prize. I love the optimism and pluck of Ajay and his band of friends and their refusal to let anything stand in their way. Exciting action sequences and peril - it was so cinematic I could really picture it being played out on the big screen. Thereafter, Varsha Shah offers a background history to her characters, from British colonialism to Jaipur, and then the space race too!

You guys were so fab and Dawn was such a lovely presence in the schools - I will absolutely be in touch next time I'm in your neck of the woods. Then again, isn’t this industry what unites them and gives them purpose in each of their individual ways? When street kid, Ajay, uncovers a scandal that threatens to evict thousands of the poorest people of Mumbai from their homes, he knows he has an important story to tell. We've been waiting for the next instalment of Ajay's adventures in our house since we fell in love with the first book (short-listed for the Waterstones prize). We loved ‘Ajay and the Mumbai Sun’ in our household and we enjoyed ‘Ajay and the Jaipur Moon’ just as much. Ajay chased it down, ducking past the railway guard blowing his whistle, around a woman in a midnight-blue sari glittering with tiny mirrors, and through two boys, playing with plastic rockets, to catch it. Yesterday a parent came over to tell me how impressed she was by the book fair and that you did a fabulous job of selling the books to the children first. This is a gripping and beautifully written book, full of adventure, humour, poignancy and characters so real you feel by the end of the book some of them have become your close friends.
