About this deal

In 2014, More ABBA Gold was remastered and re-released once again as part of the “40th Anniversary Edition”, which contains Gold, More ABBA Gold, and a bonus disc containing B-sides.

More ABBA Gold’s 20 tracks take in the full scope of the band’s diverse catalogue, reaching back to the group’s first album for 1973’s “Ring Ring” and extending into the ‘80s for such latter-day hits as “The Visitors” and “When All Is Said and Done. Join us each week as we navigate the dance between past and present, weaving a narrative of hope, empowerment, and the unyielding strength that defines the journey to reclaim 'Native Land. what a shame they decline to be reunited at least for a live, for one single night to show the world "we are still there ". Erasure had released a 4 track ABBA cover EP, Abba-esque, in summer 1992 which topped charts around the world showing there was still a strong interest in ABBA's music. This version was issued in the US in 2010, although it does not come in a super jewel case, but instead a regular jewel case.I believe that music becomes more intimate if it is based on life's experiences and these two albums always make me think about what might have been.

A live recording of “The Way Old Friends Do” proves that the group’s magic wasn't a mere studio creation. As a kid, one of the very few "rock" albums my parents had was a cassette copy of Greatest Hits on side one of the tape and Greatest Hits Volume 2 on side two of the tape. I know Abba made some happy, joyful music (Dancing Queen, Waterloo etc) but also I think some of it is actually very sad like the divorced themed Knowing Me Knowing You, The Winner Takes It All, Our Last Summer, Slipping Through My Fingers, etc. As these licences were renewed every three years, between 1989 (when PolyGram acquired Polar) and 1992 all of these licences had expired. Polar had only produced and distributed ABBA's records in Scandinavian countries, licencing the recordings for release by different companies around the world (such as Atlantic in the US and Epic in the UK).

The best way to measure long term importance of an album is clearly through amount of sales, making Gold number 2 and Queen greatest hits a clear Number One. It was a big deal at the time, despite the weird fictional sub-plot (involving a DJ trying to get an interview with them). When this compilation was released it caused alot of excitement because it contained a previously unreleased song, "I Am the City". Thus, you may be tempted to see this "best of the rest" compilation as superfluous and pass it over.

Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. In November 2021, it was awarded 20× Platinum by the British Phonographic Industry, denoting six millions album-equivalent unit in the UK. Great cd sounds great you can't beat Abba any day no matter what your mood is Abba is always great to sing to, dance or cry to that lost love.and most recently in 2014 to mark the group's 40th anniversary of winning the Eurovision Song Contest. During the band's active years, it was composed of two couples, the one being Agnetha Faltskog and Bjorn Ulvaeus, the other Anni-Frid Lyngstad and Benny Andersson. S. chart singles, songs like “Eagle,” “Angeleyes,” and “On and On and On” found their greatest success in European markets. Songs that had limited single release such as ‘Angeleyes’, ‘On And On And On’, ‘When All Is Said And Done’, and ‘The Visitors’; songs deemed as “singles that never were” like ‘When I Kissed The Teacher’; and album tracks that seem to have been favourites of the compilers of the album like ‘Out Last Summer’ and ‘The Way Old Friends Do’. The 1993 audio releases include a single edit of "Eagle", a promo edit of "The Visitors" and an alternate mix of "Lovelight".

In Austria, the album charted for 397 weeks, making it the all-time second longest stay on the chart.A 3 CD edition that includes the original album (disc 1), the More Gold: More Hits album (disc 2) and the "Golden B-sides" (disc 3), containing 20 B-sides. Celebrating ABBA's 25th anniversary of winning the Eurovision Song Contest with " Waterloo", includes the original versions of "Voulez-Vous" and "The Name of the Game". I bought this CD as members of my family had recently watched Mama Mia the movie and one of my daughters liked a few songs that were not on Abba gold V(1)such as "I do, I do " and " Last Summer " and they were on Abba Gold Vol(2).
