About this deal

We were very kindly gifted the special ‘Object of design’ edition by Jason Woodside Maclaren Atom stroller to review by the amazing guys at Pramworld and here’s what I thought. The style set includes coordinated accessories in the box - a reversible Seat Liner, Printed Raincover, Storage Bag, Shoulder Pads and Jockey Strap. Yes that’s right, no more leaving it at the bottom of the plane stairs for them to just chuck on or waiting nervously for it to appear on the conveyor belt! Each wheel comes with an individual, soft, shock-absorbing suspension - though, don't expect any rocking. Putting it in the boot with the pooch was easy thanks to the travel bag, meaning no dog hair (or drool) were going anywhere near the actual pushchair and that to me was a godsend.

Theodore has been confidently walking since 11 months old, and although he loves being lazy and being pushed along, we were ditching the pram ever so slowly.Reclining its backrest is not difficult, but putting it back to the sitting position, you need to pull the strap quite a bit harder. Another advantage of the handlebar without the cover is the perforations on the sides, facilitating air circulation. The automatic safety lock, which prevents the stroller from unfolding by itself, also needs to be tended to. Newborns and children up to 25kg/55lb now have the best seat in the house to take in the colorful sights and sounds of the world around them. Although I am already used to some standard when it comes to Maclaren strollers (I own a Techno XLR as a spare at our grandma's), I was nevertheless positively surprised with the quality finish and the feel of the materials.

My favourite little extra is the Maclaren Atom Organiser, it velcros around the handle bars and it is a HUGE deep pouch. It also has two handy cup holders on the top meaning I can fit both Theodore's 360 cup and my reusable coffee cup for me!This is emphasized by the practical shoulder strap for carrying, the well-ventilated seat predominantly made of mesh, and the extendable hood with sun visor and UV protection. Older and taller children will fit the Atom too, no issues, considering the use for everyday errands or travel purposes. I would certainly not recommend it (together with other strollers of the same type) if you need a stroller for demanding terrain.

Moreover, the dynamic style and luxurious finish of high-quality materials, typical for Maclaren, are also present. Read more about the condition For parts or not working: An item that does not function as intended or is not fully operational. Alternatively, you can use it as a secondary urban stroller - but I would only suggest small, occasional errands, not many-hour rides every day (this is generally true for ultracompact pushchairs). No floppy neck and uncomfortable looking child - they can sleep super easy and you don't need to worry.Woodside's ultimate mission is to engage, inspire and channel positive vibes- and his iconic geometric shapes and bright contrasting colors on the atom style set - do just that. For such, you'd be probably better off with the Techno XT, as it is a much more comfortable stroller for children, especially as they grow older. The locking system located above the front wheels is a mixture of one of the biggest advantages and also an important disadvantage of the Atom.

Parents too can enjoy the atom style with its high-performance features from lightweight aircraft aluminum frame, super compact fold, fully reclining seats, expandable hood, and front wheel suspension, plus compatibility with popular infant car seat brands and the Maclaren Carrycot. We reckon on our real-life adventures as parents, to continuously set and elevate the standards for protection and performance. What the Atom lacks in backrest height, it balances with the height to the top of the canopy, measuring 66 cm ~ 16". I used the main Atom one but the clever thing about these liners are they are reversible meaning you get the chance of two designs in one. Additionally, you can extend the hood conventionally - by unzipping the wide panel forming another third of the hood.We have tested the stroller with the youngest Ferdinand (2 years old); then with Felix (4 years old, 16 kg) and finally, the oldest Florian tried it out as well (5 and half years old, and weighing over 20 kg - close to the maximum weight capacity of the Atom, which is 25 kg). To maximize the storage space, a relatively large rear pocket in the rear canopy section is available. Unless, of course, you have to negotiate a pothole bigger than the wheel size - in that case, it is advisable to either avoid it or lift the front of the stroller off the ground rather than riding straight through. Having said that, the tether strap is still a nice option to have, especially if your older child is willing to hold onto it (you can use this trick when you have both of your hands full). I really thought it would be tiny but it’s a perfect size to chuck anything and everything underneath!
