The Bass Station is a "plug in" - Synthesizer, that you can enable within the ableton software (apparently) - I still have not been able to figure out how to enable and use it. Now supports iPad - Launchpad S connects to iPad® with the Apple Camera Connection Kit - no drivers required! There is also a whole range of effects that can be triggered using Launchpad's buttons, including filters, stutters and drum roll-styled effects.

The Launchpad S Control Pack includes Ableton Live Lite 9 plus 1 Gigabyte of loops and sounds so you can start making and performing electronic music straight out of the box. Get Launchpad S, Launch Control, Ableton Live Lite 9, 1GB of loops and sounds, and two custom designed cases in a single pack. Class compliance also gives Linux-based musicians a chance to play, and makes the new Launchpad compatible with the iPad (via Apple's Camera Connection Kit — see the 'iLaunchpad' box). To do this, you’ll need to have the USB adapter that comes as part of the iPad Camera Connection Kit.It also triggers loops and effects in the new Novation Launchpad app for iPad; a totally self-standing music performance app that hosts sounds and effects. The Novation Launchpad S is a music controller that lets the programmers use the multi-colored LED states to design creative tools in Max MSP and Reaktor. This is not a software control app, it hosts its own sounds and enables you to trigger loops with your Launchpad S hardware.

The app features a 1GB sample pack of brand new hand-picked loops curated by Loopmasters, ranging from drum samples to artist packs across a variety of modern genres. Fully class-compliant, Launch Control can be used with all major music software on Mac or PC, including Cubase, Pro Tools, Reason, Logic and FL Studio. Brighter, faster and works with more software Launchpad S is an update to the best selling original Launchpad.On the new Launchpad S, the designers selected LEDs with a color spectrum that spaces the red and the green wavelengths much further apart. Instead of the traditional (and by now, commonplace) white-on-black look, the Launchpad S features a gunmetal grey sheen with orange accents – something that completely took me by surprise when opening the box for the first time. Some of the less obvious but equally important changes to the Launchpad S occur on the software side of things. On top of this, the Launchpad Pro offers direct access to editing controls, dedicated mixer function buttons and new velocity and pressure-sensitive pads for more expressive beat making. I also have the AKAI LPD8 which, along with the sliders the LP has with FL Studio (which work great, sliding your finger across pads is quite easy and smooth, I do suggest using the joint of your finger instead of the tip, it works a lot better) gives me all the controls I need.
