And certainly the best of the films are gathered here in this collection, now including one of the most interesting if not quite best of the sequels. I have been a fan of Clive Barker and the Hellraiser franchise since the late 1980's and have all of the 8 films with Doug Bradley playing "Pinhead" on DVD. Movie: The gates of Hell are thrown open by this 4K boxset dedicated to Clive Barker's Hellraiser mythos. The producers wanted to reach a wider audience with these new additions but all they really achieved was reduce the impact of the movie and in turn make it a bit gimmicky.

Hellraiser has always been famed for its gruesome and grotesque special effects and 3 is no exception.

The discs are also loaded with special features, not to mention the wildly impressive box decked out with new artwork that will look good on the ol’ media shelf. Prepare to be enthralled by the haunting practical effects and the raw power of Doug Bradley’s portrayal of Pinhead, the chilling leader of the Cenobites.

While you wait for Hellraiser: Quartet of Torment to arrive on your doorstep , Bloody Disgusting is exclusively debuting the trailer for the brand new 4K restoration of Clive Barker’s Hellraiser, the original horror classic that started it all. In Hellraiser, hedonist Frank Cotton (Sean Chapman) thinks he has reached the limits of earthly pleasure. Neil became a horror fan from just a nightmare-inducing glimpse of the Ghoulies VHS cover and a book on how to draw ghosts. The story takes place after the events of the first film as we see Kirsty ( Ashley Laurence) committed to an asylum under the care of the classy yet perverse Dr Channard (played exquisitely by British stage actor Kenneth Cranham) who throughout the film establishes his character as one of the most twisted and memorable in horror cinema. Now his former lover Julia ( Clare Higgins) must kill to make him whole again; but the Cenobites want Frank back, and there’ll be hell to pay when they find him.We then follow the toymaker’s bloodline into 1996 when John Merchant (Ramsay pulling triple duty) is a famous architect, who is plagued by dreams of hell that he uses to litter his work on huge skyscrapers. Clay tells us, “The film has been gestating for a long time, so it’s thrilling for people to finally get to experience it.
