About this deal

So while the S7 edge is a little ahead on specs and has the bigger, curved screen, the main choice you need to make here is which size you prefer. Samsung said it disabled the feature because "we believe that our users want a microSD card to transfer files between their phone and other devices. They can record game footage, stop notifications or buttons from disrupting play and can limit the smartphone’s performance to save battery power.

The S7 is available in 32GB or 64GB models by default, so you still have the option of having more storage if you need it, but at least you now have a choice. But if you're looking for a spill-proof, single-hand-operation 4G smartphone with a terrific camera, the Samsung Galaxy S7 fits the bill better than anything else on the market. iFixit gave the S7 a repairability score of 3 out of 10, noting an excessive use of glue and glass panels, as well as it being nearly impossible to service certain components of the device (such as the daughterboard and other components) without removing the screen, which is not designed to be removed, and that "replacing the glass without destroying the display is probably impossible". For starters, it means you now don’t have to pay extra upfront for a larger capacity smartphone, a la Apple. The S7’s metal frame is now slightly smoother and less angular, but it’s also a fraction fatter and heavier than the S6’s, measuring 7.The Galaxy S6 was one of the best smartphones of 2015, but there were a few things that even the most diehard Samsung fans didn’t quite agree with – the lack of microSD card slot and no user-replaceable battery. In fact, it’s one of the best looking phones we’ve ever seen and a far cry from the Samsung Galaxy S5. Samsung disabled Google's Adoptable Storage feature, which makes the memory card look like internal memory to the system, so you still have to move apps back and forth from the Application Settings screen. which means it's barely noticeable when you're placing the phone down, while still being strong enough to help protect the lens.

The Galaxy S7 is a phone you can grip confidently – unlike the iPhone 6S and LG G5, with their flat backs resulting in a slightly awkward position in the hand. Samsung’s also brought back its waterproofing protection, which was strangely absent on the S6 after making such a splash (pardon the pun) on the Galaxy S5. The LG G5 launched with a unique modular pull but failed, the HTC 10 looked to rekindle some of the Taiwanese firm's former glories (with mixed success) and, of course, the iPhone 7 landed with no headphone jack and waterproofing to match the Galaxy S7's similar ability. Sadly, you're still left with a single speaker firing out the bottom of the Galaxy S7 Edge, which doesn't really have the most premium of sound; however, it's serviceable, and noticeably louder than other mono speakers we've used. Editorial independence means being able to give an unbiased verdict about a product or company, with the avoidance of conflicts of interest. The Korean company has been criticised over the years for complicating the excellent standard Android with unnecessary features and bloat, slowing it down and making it worse, not better.

It is the last phone in the Samsung Galaxy S series to be equipped with a MicroUSB-B port, which has since been replaced with USB-C technology. You can even minimise a game without pausing it, which could be useful for those that play games such as Clash of Clans or similar. Following Samsung’s development of high-speed wired charging, now the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge feature fast charging wirelessly. I wouldn’t normally watch a film on a screen this size, but the panel here is so gorgeous that I can’t help getting lost in it. The Galaxy S7 is also about a millimeter thicker than the Galaxy S6—if it gives us more battery life, we are 100 percent in favor of thicker phones. It may not be enough to tempt Galaxy S6 owners, but for everyone else this is a seriously compelling smartphone and looks set to take the world by storm.

The screen is larger than the Galaxy S6 Edge, yet somehow the phone doesn't feel too much bigger in the hand. GPU performance is also better, taking the GFXBench Manhattan test from 15 frames per second (fps) on the previous generation, to 25fps here. It has few a gimmicky features, but they are not activated by default and are hidden behind an experimental menu that asks users for feedback on whether they’re useful. In terms of audio and video playback, the Snapdragon 820 can handle any content you can throw at it. If you've been holding onto an earlier Samsung Android phone on Verizon, though, and you're looking for a small but powerful device, now would be the time to upgrade. The Galaxy S5 bezels were beefier than the Galaxy S4, a change that we felt made the S5 design look like a step backward. Succeeding the S6 and S6 Edge+, respectively, the S7 is produced in a standard model with a display size of 5. pdf","osList":null,"areaList":[{"code":"AT","orgCode":"AT"},{"code":"BA","orgCode":"BA"},{"code":"BG","orgCode":"BG"},{"code":"CH","orgCode":"CH"},{"code":"CY","orgCode":"CY"},{"code":"CZ","orgCode":"CZ"},{"code":"DE","orgCode":"DE"},{"code":"ES","orgCode":"ES"},{"code":"FR","orgCode":"FR"},{"code":"GB","orgCode":"GB"},{"code":"GR","orgCode":"GR"},{"code":"HR","orgCode":"HR"},{"code":"HU","orgCode":"HU"},{"code":"IE","orgCode":"IE"},{"code":"IT","orgCode":"IT"},{"code":"LU","orgCode":"LU"},{"code":"LV","orgCode":"LV"},{"code":"MK","orgCode":"MK"},{"code":"NL","orgCode":"NL"},{"code":"PL","orgCode":"PL"},{"code":"PT","orgCode":"PT"},{"code":"RO","orgCode":"RO"},{"code":"RU","orgCode":"RU"},{"code":"SE","orgCode":"SE"},{"code":"SI","orgCode":"SI"},{"code":"SK","orgCode":"SK"},{"code":"UA","orgCode":"UA"},{"code":"UZ","orgCode":"UZ"}],"languageList":[{"code":"EN","orgCode":"EN","name":"ENGLISH"},{"code":"BG","orgCode":"BG","name":"BULGARIAN"},{"code":"HR","orgCode":"HR","name":"CROATIAN"},{"code":"CS","orgCode":"CS","name":"CZECH"},{"code":"DA","orgCode":"DA","name":"DANISH"},{"code":"NL","orgCode":"NL","name":"DUTCH"},{"code":"ET","orgCode":"ET","name":"ESTONIAN"},{"code":"FI","orgCode":"FI","name":"FINNISH"},{"code":"FR","orgCode":"FR","name":"FRENCH"},{"code":"FR","orgCode":"F2","name":"FRENCH(SWISS)"},{"code":"DE","orgCode":"DE","name":"GERMAN"},{"code":"EL","orgCode":"EL","name":"GREEK"},{"code":"HU","orgCode":"HU","name":"HUNGARIAN"},{"code":"GA","orgCode":"GA","name":"IRISH"},{"code":"IT","orgCode":"IT","name":"ITALIAN"},{"code":"LV","orgCode":"LV","name":"LATVIAN"},{"code":"LT","orgCode":"LT","name":"LITHUANIAN"},{"code":"MK","orgCode":"MK","name":"MACEDONIAN"},{"code":"NO","orgCode":"NO","name":"NORWEGIAN"},{"code":"PL","orgCode":"PL","name":"POLISH"},{"code":"PT","orgCode":"PT","name":"PORTUGUESE"},{"code":"RO","orgCode":"RO","name":"ROMANIAN"},{"code":"SR","orgCode":"SR","name":"SERBIAN"},{"code":"SK","orgCode":"SK","name":"SLOVAK"},{"code":"SL","orgCode":"SL","name":"SLOVENIAN"},{"code":"ES","orgCode":"ES","name":"SPANISH"},{"code":"SV","orgCode":"SV","name":"SWEDISH"}]},{"description":"Safety Guide","fileName":"Safety_information_Rev.
