As you can see from all the other reviews, the service here is brilliant, and i experienced the same high standard. It also makes a great day shelter or ground sheet, easily and quickly set up for lunch stops and rest breaks out on the trail. The simple tapered shape of the groundsheet fits within the footprint of the DD SuperLight Bikepacker Tarp, and takes merely seconds to set into place. An ideal companion for extreme and adventure sports like cycling, climbing or trail running, the DD Superlight Tarp S will keep you dry on rest stops while keeping your pack weight to an absolute minimum. This is the second DD tarp I’ve bought and it packs to about half the size and weight of the first, a standard 3x3m in Coyote Brown.
And this was purchased as an upgrade, the product's packed size is about 30% of the original 3m x 3m, which is a huge bonus as it means more space in your backpack. Cook underneath the tarp on your wild camp, use it as a ground sheet, cover your kayak or touring bike with it, craft it into a tipi-tent. It also makes a great day shelter or ground sheet, easily and quickly set up for lunch stops and rest breaks out on the trail.The set-up works best when this point is level to or higher than the loop - for example to a tree branch, or by taking the guy-line over a rock / fallen branch to raise the foot end. Length is ample, though width is fairly narrow so needs to be suspended low to protect ground sleepers from rain (10-15cm wider would be better).
The Superlight Range is more expensive than their other products due to the higher cost of using the lightest materials. With a 3,000mm PU coating and a sheltered side door, it'll keep you dry in stormy weather while its 3 air vents prevent condensation inside. It provides a generous amount of cover for a hammock and a few possessions, and I think the other one would be too small.A perfect option for a quick rain shelter, ground bivi camp, or keeping the wind off your stove during a lunchbreak.
