About this deal

The readers that don’t mind boundaries being crossed, and having their comfort level pushed, then this would be a book you will want to read. Tiernan thinks about telling the men how hypocritical they are, then sort of just forgets all about it. jake: jake was supposedly a big part of the book, at least at first, and then he all but disappears. If you have read other Penelope's books you will know by now she has a lot of darkness in her stories and here us where the beauty comes, she took real feelings even the most dark and ugly and turns them in something amazing.

Ngl, I wouldn’t be mad if we got spin-offs for the other two guys so they get their HEAs (pls) cos I would 100% read that. What you’re not entitled to is telling ME what to read and not to read, what to like and can’t/mustn’t like. it would've made more sense if she actually ended up with the person she spent most of the time with in a romantic way (Jake). In a last ditch effort at parental responsibility, we find out that her parents have dumped Tiernan off on her step-uncle, Jake, a mountain man who builds dirt bikes and lives off the land, swinging his cock around like an axe as he pees on everything he owns to mark his territory. But… These darker more taboo romances are also not usually my jam so i’m surprised I enjoyed this one as much as I did! The setting was great, the girl-on-girl hate was tiring, and the alphahole caveman dickslinging made my vagina pack up its bags and move to that iconic dry desert town known as Nopeville. at least one of them is going to r*pe or sexually assault her in any way shape or form, i mean, "It does get boring in the winter. If the author balanced this by showing us moments where he CARED about the heroine, I could have possibly tolerated it; I have a high threshold for dark heroes.

that was like 200 pages too long, we could’ve gotten the whole point of the book in way less time without all of tiernan’s talking about nothing and going on a car ride and feeding the horses and making breakfast etc etc we don’t care. and if you’re gonna “need” somebody like that, the least you can do is pick people better than them 💀.

The girl (Tiernan) has sex with her step-uncle Jake first, then step-cousin Noah, then other step-cousin Kaleb. Mixed with complex characters, atmospheric setting, and the author’s alluring story telling, this book will guarantee passage to one of the wildest (and most uncomfortable) rides you’ve ever had in your reading life. I was honestly a bit sad and (initially) surprised by who Tiernan chose to pursue because I found that connection the least strong out of all of them. well, it's hard to describe, but the moment she's finished having sex with Jake or Noah, all the lust that the author has spent ages building up fizzles out of her. Noah is honestly the only one I kind of liked because I'm a sucker for the fuckboy with the heart of gold trope.

why was Kaleb even down for the threesome especially when it's WITH his brother and the woman he supposedly "loves" when he's apparently so "possessive". I'm not going to go too much into detail with this as I do think it's just best read as intended and I'm also aware there are some very mixed opinions regarding this book which I also totally get. There may have been one consensual encounter between the two but the rest can be classified as near rape or rape. But this for me stood out in a sea of sameness and it was just so different that I can't help but remember it. And the FEELS are what will drown you, devour you, subsume you from head to toe till it's white out of acute pain and miserable grief.i don’t ship them necessarily, but i feel like he was a good friend to her and that was a relationship that didn’t seem entirely awful all the time. but for this to be a smut book and not much else, you can’t be having 250 pages of mundane activities and tiernan’s melodramatic thought processes.

Penelope Douglas is one of those authors where I always think the premise of their books sounds AMAZING but then I read them and I'm, like, virtually disappointed every time. I thought the way Tiernan just “shuts off” her strong feelings and chemistry with the two “unchosen” guys was pretty abrupt and it honestly felt a little off, since it was built up so much in the first half. i believed in the H's love for Tiernan but i NEVER believed in Tiernan's love for the main H because of the lack of development and the fact that she never felt bad about sleeping with his brother and father? Love it or loathe it and for sure this is not going to be for everyone, it's a powerful piece of storytelling that gripped me instantly. Reviews, interviews, blog tours, guest posts and still relating lifestyle posts or subscription boxes are welcome.and why would i not be intrigued by a h who gets stuck in the Colorado mountains with her step-uncle and two step-cousins?
