I was half way down the river before I realised this so I tried to pay attention to my strokes rather than being in auto mode and found that I mainly only used a pry if moving laterally to make sure the stern avoided the rock in question.

I think the difference between canoe and kayak is that I can see further in a canoe so have less need to go slow in that respect and feel more in control going faster. I think most kayakers-turned-open-boaters tend to 'crash' down rapids a good deal faster than out-and-out open boaters! On deep water rivers though I really like the technique and its firm feeling, in particular because it transfers nicely from my OC1, C1 and ww kayak.Or you can just freehand cut some pieces like I did originally; I folded my paper in half so that both sides of the bow would be symmetrical when I cut. Interestingly Jim, running Warden Gorge at the weekend I was using just a little speed for the first drop across the corner of the wave, this got me to the eddy opposite on a bow cut.

I personally use a cross bow cut as a part of my range of techniques, but have found whilst exiting the current on occasions it to be quite exposing with little places to go to if you snub the blade or something. I know what it is, I found myself using them fairly regularly to position my boat in rapids last week but found myself having a debate with my brother about them.My reverse ferry is particularly weak through lack of practice which also goes some way to explaining why I tend to run faster than the flow. Clarity measures the number, size, position and colour of inclusions captured within, and blemishes on the surface of, a diamond. Please note that the Mermaid Waves Claw does not have a colour option, but will be included in your box. Graff diamonds are exceptionally pure; many are Flawless or display minute inclusions that are invisible to the naked eye.
