About this deal

Puts too much emphasis on owning stuffI refuse to put any effort to this review because they put none into this book. I like the section about learning to effectively help your friends with emotional baggage, like a village wise woman and all. Thankfully, this book offers another solution in the form of a spell for personal demon exorcism that promises to help you weaken and eventually evict unwelcome mental guests.

All this book does is take basic wiccan and magik principals and apply them to a modern teenage girl's life. Overall, it was nicely themed motivational book for the girls who fell in love with stories about witches when they were little. Packed with plenty of magick, including spells you can cast by yourself or with your BFFs, this book is for the basic witch in us all. They were protected by their communities, and were considered the first line of defense against diabolical witchcraft. On top of it, trans witches are left out completely, and us genderqueer folks were added to the intro probably as an afterthought to ensure the book could be considered "PC Enough. BookRiot“The perfect read for women who wish to embrace the power they have from within and transform it into personal purpose, truth and intention.

While each section of the book contains a ‘spell’ or ‘hex,’ these are mini-rituals that help you to center yourself and your mission. To be clear: this is not a book to be used by actual magic practitioners (apparently there has been some upset in that community about the title of the book). Filled with bad advice, inaccurate history and ridiculous ritual suggestions, the only thing that earned it a second star were the illustrations. kind of like if tumblr and rookie mag had a young teenager who had just watched the craft or charmed for the first time.

With humor, heart, and a hip modern sensibility, this charming guide dispenses witchy wisdom for the curious, the cynical, and anyone who could use a magical boost to get through the day. If you ever wanted to read a book about spirituality where the author(s) consistently deprecate that path by saying "it's not actually real, we're just pretending" then this is the book for you! Next, you fold the paper, place it into a bowl, then light it with a match, as it burns you repeat a self-affirming mantra, or incantation. Don't be mistaken though, the book doesn't apply to a specific gender and the authors make a lot of effort to give alternatives to feminine ideas that are expressed throughout the book. Not only this but the book takes a modern approach to discussing witchcraft which is particularly shown in the section surrounding emojis and their likeness to runes.
