About this deal

It's not quite as quiet as a full-size GTX 970, but the fan Asus has installed on the card doesn't make much noticeable pitch-changing noise when spinning up or down. My build was as follows:-Gigabyte Gaming 5 MotherboardIntel I-5 4690K Processor4 x 8Gb Hyper X Fury Red Ram boards240 Gb Hyper X Savage SSDGigabyte NVidia GTX 750 ti 2Gb Graphics card. Strix GTX 970 features exclusive ASUS DIGI+ VRM with 6-phase Super Alloy Power components for enhanced durability and cooling, and GPU Tweak for overclocking and online streaming.

But since most graphics cards have power cables sticking out the side, this shouldn't be an issue for most users. This is a relatively narrow range which indicates that the Nvidia GTX 970 performs reasonably consistently under varying real world conditions. When nVidia announced their 10th generation Maxwell architecture it was hotly anticipated and back in February we got to see the first GPUs based on it: the GM107 based 750 and 750 Ti. La sensazione di solidità al tatto è come sempre eccellente, grazie anche a una spessa piastra inferiore che ne protegge perfettamente i componenti più sensibili allo stesso modo del modello reference. In other words, if the GTX 970 DirectCU Mini doesn't deliver the performance you need out of the box, you should probably save up for an R9 Nano, or consider getting a larger case that can accommodate a larger, more-powerful graphics card like the GTX 980 or AMD's R9 Fury line.

Unlike the fully unlocked GeForce GTX 980, which uses the same GPU but has all 2048 shaders enabled, NVIDIA has disabled some shading units on the GeForce GTX 970 to reach the product's target shader count. Valley, like Unigine's Heaven, is not a game, but a graphical workout that's a taxing measure of DirectX 11 prowess. While the latter would obviously be far quieter, it's also both more difficult and risky (don't even know if the mounting holes will fit).

Gaming PCs are getting more and more popular, much like an American muscle car, or should we say card. Silent at low loads, Nearsilent under load, Runs cool when under the cosh, Almost as fast as a GTX 780 Ti, Efficient compared to lastgen, , Mild core overclock, Only one DisplayPort output, No memory overclock, Asus GeForce GTX 970 Strix OC, HEXUS. For software, we use Futuremark’s 3DMark to stress-test the card, and AIDA64 to monitor and record the temperatures. For those amongst you wo are looking for an upgrade that can promise being future proof and handle the new technologies coming online then this is the card for you.

In our look at the GTX 980 last week, we were left thoroughly impressed, but little did we realize at the time, the GTX 970 – and ASUS’ Strix edition in particular – was about to impress us even more. I have not done a thorough test of elite due to spending almost the whole weekend with The Witcher 3.

In fact, we were able to install it in a red version of the Rosewill Legacy V4 case, which is only about 11 inches wide. And under load the card emits a slight low-end whir that you won't likely hear a few feet from the case—especially over your CPU and case fan(s). Our Heaven DirectX 11 benchmark test is not strictly a game, but a heady DX11 workout that displays a complex, game-like graphics scenario. Inspired by light, it was designed to solve some of the most complex lighting and graphics challenges in visual computing.com is a leading authority on technology, delivering lab-based, independent reviews of the latest products and services. One other nice touch: Asus has included a metal backplate for a cleaner look and possibly improved cooling. What that means: Nvidia says its newest cards accelerate VXGI to the point that game developers can compute global lighting in-game, so that lighting effects can interact in real time with game elements (such as characters), rather than just be projected onto static surfaces like floors, walls, and furniture.

In other words, the GTX 970 DirectCU Mini isn't quite the marvel of engineering and cooling that AMD's Radeon R9 Nano is. The GTX 970 DirectCU Mini lagged further behind the R9 Nano on this test, but the Asus card still managed to deliver smooth frame rates at every resolution other than 4K. My PC is under a desk about 2 feet away from my ear and all I can hear is the quiet whirr of the case fans. It offers levels of customisation, including GPU temperature target, overclocking and unlocked voltage.Read more about the seller notes “USED/TESTED GPU: All units are taken from recycled systems and fully cleaned and tested with 3DMark before listing to ensure the product works as intended. It's worth noting that it's rarely pushed hard for extended periods of time, and silence at idle is the priority here.
