About this deal

Take a look at the second clip, “Ring Ring”, featuring Agnetha in red hotpants and halter top played off against Frida’s snakeskin catsuit — I’m not even going to mention the guys’ outfits (suffice it to say that capes don’t really make it on guitarists).

Virtually all the footage on here can been watched on you tube, actually ABBAs material on you tube is better than this if you dig deep enough for it. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. Collection of music documentaries focusing on Swedish pop group ABBA, including live performances and critical reviews of their eighth studio album, 'The Visitors', and the compilation album 'ABBA Gold'. As a musician and an amateur music producer, I can appreciate the incredible complexities of the music and the 'Wall of Sound' production style that they used. One amazing thing about these close-up shots is that, despite wearing makeup, you see a lot of imperfections that you would never be allowed to see in today’s videos. There’s also the weird shoulder-leading Greek/Russian dance the girls do, and the scene of the four riding around in a convertible, which does always remind me of Liza Minelli and Michael York tooling around in Cabaret. Over the years I have played ABBA when I am feeling down ,they always help, especially lately to help with grief (that's knocked me for six). So naturally I jumped at the chance to review this DVD collection of every single promotional film (there were neither videos nor any MTV when they first began making these) the group made. As for the girls, Agnetha manages to look pretty despite a succession of unflattering costumes, some of which must have been fashion mistakes even in the 1970s.

These are both 'official' videos as they are both contained on the ABBA Gold DVD, yet they are somehow missing from this collection! But for all the brilliance of their music, Abba are remembered as much for their glittery costumes and general 1970s appearance - and perhaps this part of their legacy was never better exposed than in their groundbreaking music videos. We follow their fascinating 25 year journey, concentrating on the eight glorious years in which they conquered the world.
