Meg, Mog and Owl manage to look after the first two dinosaurs but then a fearsome Tyrannosaurus hatches and wants to eat them all! The cover may have some limited signs of wear but the pages are clean, intact and the spine remains undamaged.

Helen Nicoll worked with Jan Pienkowski for over forty years, first at the BBC and then on the Meg and Mog stories. Published in 1968, A Necklace of Raindrops was the first of several wonderful collaborations between Jan and Joan Aiken - and it was also the very first book Jan illustrated. My daughter laughs when Meg’s spells go wrong, first the eggs are too big then the dinosaurs shrink to mouse size. As they land on top of a pyramid, Meg accidentally lets go of her cauldron and poor Mog falls out, so she has to bandage him up. We recently inherited some of the books and now my daughter is enjoying them, she loves Meg’s spells as they never work quite as they should!

Stegosaurus and Diplodocus have cute, friendly expressions but Tyrannosaurus is fierce with a mouthful of sharp teeth.
